john luke
This thread starts with an apology; a lot of the exhibits in the first museum were both behind glass (causing reflections) and in low light causing a bit of a yellow caste. I have done some post processing, however the photographs are not of a good quality. The tour started at the large Docks in Malta, prior to moving onto the first museum. 2
john luke
And now onto the underground Air Raid Shelters. (Again lighting not good and unfortunately flash not allowed at all into the museum.) After that a walk onto the next attraction which is the Cannon Firing at Noon at the Saluting Battery. 2
john luke
Getting it right first time was one of our buzz phrases at work. Until the guide went through the itinerary for this tour I had not realised that the cannon fire from the saluting battery was on the agenda. It was covered on one of the previous tours. So a second chance and an opportunity to improve of the previous efforts. I have included the whole series just to show the smoke dispersing. The time between firing and that last shot would have been a little less than 3 seconds. The camera specs say it will take 8 shots per second. 1

john luke
On to the Fort ST Elmo National War Museum. Same lighting issues as earlier museum.
john luke
There are two similar but not identical temples on this site. There are no records, for obvious reasons, of the dates of construction, however carbon dating suggests that they predate the Egyptian pyramids and Stone Henge. 2
john luke
A cave showing vertical and horizontal strata. Quite dark inside the cave. The museum was interesting but unfortunately many exhibits were behind glass. 3
mic10
Thanks for sharing your museum experience! I totally get the struggle with reflections and low light. By the way, I've been there too and I'm always blown away by the history. Reminds me of an article I found about underwater pyramid. Can't wait for more history chats!
