Nightcrawler
Love 'em or hate' em? When I was a kid, I hated them, along with pickled onions. Now I have gone the opposite way I have gherkins with nearly everything these days and often on their own. I get through 2 jars a week 😊. It may not last 2

coxyhog
I once unknowingly went into the Horns pub in Watford as my pregnant mother had a strong desire for gherkins....

I prefer cornichons myself ...... or a nice Mrs Ellwoods with mustard seeds for a bit of bite.

Derek Dangleberries
Joanna Lumley campaigned for the equal treatment of Gherkins so they must be OK.

Glasseye
They have a good crunch.  I think they have dill ones also if you don't care for the sweet. I haven't had either for years.  They were almost a sure thing on the Thanksgiving chow table each year.
Jambo
Never eaten one in my life. Just checked my brand new jar of Branston pickle which appears to contain everything but gherkin. 😄
Butch
Not a big fan of gherkins but like the odd pickled onion. Speaking of which, I'm making a dozen pickled eggs today with assorted spices etc. Always good for snack and especially nice with a large pack of crisps.

I very much prefer when the eggs are pickled in a proper dark malt vinegar.

I keep coming across solid info, that it a good thing for keeping healthy.

Nightcrawler
I suggest we have T247 October Gherkin Challenge. All members should purchase a jar of pickled whole Gherkins and try them for a week. 🥒🥒🥒🥒🙂 1

Unfortunately, the bigger the gherkin, the less tasty they are and harder to swallow. Flaccid 3 to 4 inch gherkins are usually the best
