You going to Blackbeards Resort or Sosua by any chance ????

Love the DR so much....

Arriving in Santo Domingo and 3 nights in Boca Chica first. That pic above is of a bartender working at a beach bar there. Then Sosua for 13 days after that. Check out a few of the latest YT vids, lots of activity going on.

No mandated vaccines, no mandated tests, no curfews, no quarantines, no.......nada! Just the online evisa going and a negative PCR test within 24 hours of my flight departure back to the States.

I wish the Thai government had done what the DR gov't did. Once each province in the country achieved a 70% vaccination rate for adults 18 and over, then all curfews and restrictions were removed and life goes on. And since then, as far as tourism is concerned, the Dom Rep is cleaning up. Arrivals in recent months are nearly equal to those in 2019, before the madness began. By not acting in a similar way, Thailand has really screwed the pooch me thinks.

Anyone in the UK, if you want to experience tropical weather, cold beers, a gorgeous beach, sexy ladies, no bar fines, a great variety of ethnic foods and a 15 minute taxi to the airport, then I highly recommend a visit.

My biggest concern is the airline I'm booked on my return home on the 21st, JetBlue through NYC, then on to California, will be canceled and I might have to be forced to stay a few days longer. Oh the horror!

Guess I'll find out sooner or later.

Nice little vid about Siem Reap - Angkor Wat, Cambodia. Wonderful, fascinating place, and great little town. Great little airport, improving infastructure, plenty of affordable housing, great bar area (Pub Street), cheap plentiful transportation options, just an all round great place to visit or live. For those who have never been - highly recommended !

I've made a number of trips to Siem Reap. There are many air connections from there to other parts of Asia. I use it as a backdoor to the Thailand. It is easier and quicker for me to connect with my daughter in Sisaket at the Cambo/TH border than it is to fly into Bangkok and make the trek to Isaan.

The Temples of Angkor are spread over a wide area. It's a fascinating place to visit for history and natural surroundings. Siem Reap offers good hotel values and some first rate restaurants. Lots to see and do.

Siem Reap looks great, must get myself across there sometime. The bar area also looks very acceptable.

The bar area "Pub Street" is well set up. Some areas they close off the street and it becomes kind of a big street party. But there are many quality bars and a wide diversity. Cheap, good eats everywhere. The atmosphere is upbeat and I felt relatively safe walking around. Easy to get to and transportation cheap as chips.

I was only there for 3 nights several years ago. But, I am looking forward to getting back there for an extended stay latter this year.
