I'm wondering now if the plan all along wasn't for a temporary relocation while they resurfaced and erected new vendor tents.

That was my thought when I got the message this morning. Maybe now they'll resurface the car park? Maybe not....!!

Don't know about western food, but the Thai food is pretty good at Nida, and at a reasonable price. Drinks are reasonably priced too, even in the worst of times. :default_cool:

I can vaguely remember some discussion about this on the Secrets Forum.

Yeah, that's where I remember seeing it quite a few years ago. Somebody also posted a nice drone's eye view video of the temple, if anyone's interested this one is quite nice, you can see the detail in the roof carvings that it's hard to make out from the ground.

Wat Chai Mongkron (Mongkol) Pattaya Temple

n the heart of Pattaya sits the city’s oldest and main Buddhist Temple, Wat Chi Mongkron (also known as Wat Chai Mongkol).  Even though it is located on the corner of Second Road and South Pattaya Road, most people hardly notice it or take the time to stop in to visit.

From the outside it is a rather unassuming compound, you could hardly believe it takes up 10 acres of land. Bordered on Second Road by shops and storefronts, the main entrance is located on South Pattaya Road.  It is well worth take a half hour to look around the Temple and take in the sights and history.

Quite misty over the beach this morning

mist
/mɪst/
noun
  1. a cloud of tiny water droplets suspended in the atmosphere at or near the earth's surface that limits visibility (to a lesser extent than fog; strictly, with visibility remaining above 1 km).
"the peaks were shrouded in mist"
    -----------------------------------------------------------
Are you sure you mean "misty"? Looks more like pollution to me!

Unfortunately that mist is pollution. We're seeing an increase in daily AQI numbers, which is unfortunately normal for this time of year.

Nothing particularly new from this morning's walk.  Lisa Bar looks about ready for filling and opening.  All the sat ariels are being removed from Drinking Street.  Santa looks a little unsteady on his feet.

Many restaurants open and servicing customers.  I did notice many were drinking water or coke; there appeared a shortage of SHA plus + signs, so I guess not many as yet registered.

Reminds me of when I worked for Coty (perfumes), part of Pfizer back in 1973. We made cans of spray mist but we had to change the name for the German market as I believe Mist in German is a little rude, something like manure or near translation.

Nothing really to do with the topic but just made me remember that little bit of info from my time working back in 73. I did smell lovely on my way home though.
