So sad to see. Have only spent one Christmas in Pattaya and that was a month long trip around 2002 or 3. Every bar and hotel was full, streets were heaving with people. I understand your point but it's not really surprising mate under the current conditions. Bangkokians are still working a normal week but will be down in hoards over the New Year. My daughter will definitely be down for a 4 day holiday. Bars in Soi 6 etc won't benefit because of their blinkered approach to attracting potential customers but I expect Pattaya to be jam packed full next weekend including Soi Buakhao!. 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

john luke Posted December 25, 2021 Author Share Posted December 25, 2021 There was a parade along Beach Road at 1700 hours on both 24th and 25th December 2021. The below photographs are from 25th December 2021. Rather a lot of photographs to wade through, however I think some of the best are towards the end of post 2. Photographically it was an interesting exercise as it started at 1700 hours with bright directional sunlight; by the end the street lights were illuminated and photographically it was a totally different scene. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I took the shots around 1930 today whilst walking home from photographing the Christmas Day Parade on Beach Road. Some bars were busy, others not so. I think the owner was an aussie with a long beard. I never saw a customer in there even when the corner bar was busy. Happy New year everyone. Yep, that's simon (or the remnants of) The club which burnt down was on the land side I think. Maybe just a typo from JL I think. The burnt club I think was an Indian one a little further south but still the same side..
