It's been a rough year all round for everyone. There is light at the end of the tunnel,  so here's wishing every member here and their loved ones a very Happy 2022.

I'm hoping we all have a very good year in 2022, but I'm none too confident of it. Even if some form of Omicron miracle happens and the pandemic becomes something much less dangerous, we still have the problems of high and rising inflation, plus tax increases to pay for all the Covid support, and then there are China and Russia with their constant sabre-rattling, and let's hope that's all they do. And to deal with all this, the leaders of the Western world are a doddery old man who can hardly stay awake and a fat clown whose choice in wallpaper has almost brought his government down, lol. Anyway, Blwyddyn Newydd Dda to one and all.

Let's all hope that this one is better than the last 2, which were a couple of piles of steaming turd for so many.

In my household I've got the pleasure of 20 or so filipino nurses visiting, and as such we have plenty of JD in store. I'm doing the cooking, so we've got: Salmon larb, Fried chicken wings, Chicken Adobo, Chicken sisig, noodles, a 9 kilo Gammon the wife won in a raffle (yes, 9 kilo's!) a shit load of boiled rice, Chicken Satay and finally a Mango and whipped cream dessert (which is literally bits of mango and whipped cream).

I don't expect my Gas bill is going to make pleasant reading next month!!.

PS, the Irovers cams are showing the Billabong being open, so that's a good start if nothing else!.

Happy New Year everyone!!. 

Let's all hope we can finally put Covid behind us this year and get back to living our lives normally. Got to go into the year in a positive outlook. And that holidays get easier to plan and everyone can enjoy their long awaited trips to Thailand and elsewhere. I know I'm gagging for a holiday when my redundancy happens in a couple of months.

Come on mate, let's not get depressed by Covid, it is what it is. Be positive man.

Could be a shite sight worse bro, we could be sat in a trench, freezing cold, missing our loved ones and facing a hostile bunch of Prussians.

Let's also take a moment to remember that without the sacrifice so many made by keeping our freedoms and societies intact, we most probably wouldn't even have the chance to express our views freely and without recourse on a forum like this.

Last year on NYE I was hunkered down sitting on my balcony in Ching Mai, watching and listening to all of the explosions. Enjoying myself immensely, snug as a bug in a rug and looking forward to the next day.
