On the way back from Vientiane we made a small detour via Kalasin. We chose the route over the bridge of the Lampao Reservoir.

Not far from there are two beautiful temples: 1.Wat Phutthawat Phu Sing: is on a hill and has a great view.

The following day we passed a smaller site with an ancient temple and some remains (Phrathat Yakhu, Amphoe Kamalasai). Next to it was a kind of exhibition of old teak houses. The temperature was around 37 degrees and since there were hardly any clouds we didn't stay long.

We spent the last night in a "resort" not far from the village. It is one of those whose houses are painted in many different colors. Unfortunately, the interior was also chosen to be multicolored. Rose wallpaper with stone pattern, yellow-green curtains, orange fridge and dark green bed linen. The blue paint on the walls, visible in places, completes the color palette. Don't you love the wardrobe?

I stayed in a "hotel" in Kalasin once. near Kuchinarai. Nowhere near as flash as the one you stayed in but it was the only place in the area.

I think it also supplied the short time rooms for the local karaoke bars. From sunset to sunrise there was a constant stream of vehicles through the car park.

Looks like the pants could stand a wash as they're standing up on their own. :default_biggrin:

This was already my second pair. The first got a bit muddy while crawling through all these caves in Laos. Maybe next time I will take a dozen more...or source a laundry.
