Amazing Thailand

It boggles the mind how first responders can miss seeing a body in a car. Especially when the cabin of the car is still intact.

Chon Buri police couldn’t find victim of car crash on back seat

Chon Buri Highway Police rescue team has been slammed by Thai netizens for their slapstick approach because they couldn’t find the dead body of a man who crashed his car. The dead body of the driver lay in the car’s wreckage for 12 hours after the accident before he was found.

The body of 68 year old Pattarachai Auttaporn was found in the back seat of a white sedan car 12 hours after the accident happened.

The accident happened yesterday at about 7am on Motorway Road No. 7 leading to Pattaya. The white sedan car was seen on CCTV cameras hitting a traffic barrier in the middle of the road after the driver seemingly lost control.

The highway rescue team rushed to the scene but astonishingly reported no deaths or injuries when they got there. They didn’t think of looking in the back and believed someone had beaten them to it and that the driver had already been sent to a hospital.

Even more bizarre was that the forklift driver didn’t look inside the car. The forklift driver just moved the damaged car to a parking lot at Khao Kheow Highway Police Station in Bang Phra Sub-district, Si Racha District, in Chon Buri.

The highway policeman in charge of the case, Rattanapon Wanna, said he waited for the driver, or driver’s relatives to contact the police and pick up the car but no one called.

It was only when Rattanapon went to check the car for documents did he find the dead body.

Bank repossesses the wrong house in central Thailand

A woman from Pathum Thani, just north of Bangkok, couldn’t believe her eyes when she returned home to her locks changed, all her belongings seized, and a ‘for sale’ sign outside her house.

Thailand’s “Government Savings Bank” (the pink one) sent bailiffs to repossess a house in Wanasiri Park View Village on September 5. The bailiffs changed all the locks and seized everything – even going as far as cutting down trees and removing the house’s awnings.

To add insult to injury, the homeowner – Kanchana – later found out that a “worker” (possibly one of the bailiffs?) had been sleeping in her seized house and using her electricity and water for “three or four days.”

The bailiffs put up signs saying, “for sale,” “do not trespass” and “property of the bank.” The sign stated that house number 99/44 belonged to the bank, but the sign was placed outside house number 99/38. Confused, a neighbour rang Kanchana on September 15 and asked her what was going on.

What parent in their right mind would give their child a sweet dipped in liquid nitrogen.

Parents warned about Dragon's Breath sweet

The treat known as Dragon's Breath, a liquid nitrogen-based sweet, should be treated with caution as it can potentially cause frostbite, Thailand's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned.

The warning was issued after a case of a toddler injuring herself while consuming the sweet was shared on the popular Facebook fan page Drama-Addict on Friday.

The young girl's parents posted a photo of their daughter with bleeding mouth sores. They claimed the sores appeared the day after the sweet was eaten.

Dragon's Breath gets its name from the main ingredient, liquid nitrogen, which causes a cloud of smoke to pass through the eater's nose and mouth.

A drunk motorcyclist fell deep asleep on his bike in the middle of a road in Nakhon Pathom province late Thursday night. It took nearly a minute for two passegersby (sic) to wake him up and direct him to safety.

Thankfully, the Good Samaritans were able to get him back on his way.
