I’m shocked he was that brave to not have more security around him, even in rural NY and 34 years after Satanic Verses came out. He’s obviously a brilliant author who has done some fantastic work. Our PM Trudeau sent best wishes and condemned the attack. Also, I was surprised to see a Muslim journalist and a professor of Middle Eastern studies stay very neutral and even praise him. Canada is so leftist right now and pro-minority/immigration, but I guess even our public figures can’t praise a stabbing.
