I just read that the head of recruitment has been forced to resign....but he's still a Group Captain on mega wages that we pay for. From the Telegraph: The head of the Royal Air Force’s recruiting team has resigned amid claims the service has effectively paused recruitment of white men to hit diversity targets. The Group Captain, whose identity has not been revealed, has left the post but is still a serving RAF officer, the Ministry of Defence confirmed. Butch
Surely that's racist in itself?. Also sexist. Denying someone a job opening that is normally open to all targets that particular demographic, whether a minority or not. The RAF should know better.
edelweiss
Its not just the RAF, 10plus years ago some organisation in the UK stated that the forces did not reflect the ethnic make up of the UK population, so in the case of the Army they re branded their regional recruiting teams and filled them with fit slim male and female ethnic soldiers from various Corps and Regiments and sent them off on a recruiting campaign round the UK. It didn’t work so they then went overseas to the Foreign and Commonwealth countries and any person who passed the tests and wanted too was recruited into the British Army. In some cases this depleted the donor country of a generation of fit educated individuals. On successful completion of training these individuals, if married, could bring their wives and kids into the UK. The Army thought they had done an excellent job and it was tea, biscuits and medals all round. But the organisation that originally identified the ethnic shortfall were not happy as the Army had not represented the ethnic make up of the UK population. The Met police at one time were only recruiting females, ethnic males or white transferee policemen from other forces.
