I am staying on the east side of lake Mabprachan where I carry a 4 foot bamboo stick to threaten the dogs whilst walking in the more out of the way places but this trip there are few soi or pet dogs on the roads anymore. I wonder where they have gone?

I read somewhere a while back about a sterisation programme being carried out

Plenty still around in Central Pattaya but they seem quite tame.

I got bitten by a Soi dog once whilst I  over on the Darkside  it chased me down a Soi whilst I was riding a motor bike and caught me on the ankle.

I had to get a Tetanus injection and have the wound cleaned at the hospital.

They appear to be quite territorial in less populated areas

It was reported that a stray Rabid Soi Dog attacked dozens of people in Buriram. The dog was reported to have classic signs indicating it was infected with rabies (foaming at the mouth).
