Colchicine can cause liver damage, so that's another reason to prevent gout attacks and stay on Allopurinol.

Yea, though with not drinking alcohol 20 years in August, i reckon my liver's not in too bad a way.

Still, as you say, it was another reason for me to go on the Allopurinol.

20 years takes some doing.

Fancy going out on the lash to celebrate?.

That's the kinda conversations i used to have with service users -

Them - I'm off the drink and drugs a month now.

Me - That's great, you're doing really well.

Them - Yea, i'm going out this weekend to get completely off my face to celebrate

I had my BP checked by a GP about 4 years ago & it was high so I had it checked again by a nurse, still high.

So they gave me a BP monitor to wear for 24hrs and it was fine.

After that I bought a monitor.

Which reminds me I must get my monitor out & start checking it regularly.

I'm a bit heavier now.

Well I checked it 6 times today,3 times before brekkie & 3 times a couple of hours afterwards.

Think I'll be ringing the docs tomorrow.

Averaged out at 159/83.

Stay off the booze for 4 days and see what it is.

Good advice. My BP drops to the normal range a few days off the piss.

Mine too, typically 3 days and its 130 over 90, which is my target for my age from the doctor to stay off meds.

Yes    130 is the new normal now.   I am good with 130/90ish any day.

Talked to the doc,he said monitor it morning & evening for 7 days & see what it averages out at.

So no piss for me for the next 7 days.

I'm sure it'll do me good.

Surprised to see mine at 122/71. Just finished a bike ride and thought it would be on the high side.

Actually, if you're all pink and sweaty it means your capillaries are dilated which will reduce your blood pressure, the systolic anyway. You can do the same with a hot shower.

Vasectomy today, bit pricey.

Blood pressure 108/63 pulse 51

Not bad so the diet has been working even though i missed my goals and have another 2 months to go (if i stick with it this time)

Found a website that said (against other website advice) that vasectomys and alcohol do mix - so 12 hrs gone soon so will have a couple of beers to celebrate (and wife gone out to play cards)

Since I stopped the booze on Sunday my lowest BP count was 144/76 & this morning it was 153/81.

I fell off the wagon this evening, had 4 pints of Guinness & then a large bottle of Cobra lager with my currywurst, chips & peas evening meal.

About 2 hours later my BP reading was 133/72....????

Just read that it lowers BP initially.

20 minutes ago for wifey and I......yearly physical in Jan tells us all is well. LDL/HDL levels and all others are good.

Very happy to say the least....but....we work on it and don't take it for granted. Just saying....Blood Oxygen levels and weight checks every morning too. All good.
