Trying to find out where a repeat prescription has been sent. Surgery says to pharmacy A, NHS app says to pharmacy A, pharmacy A says nope.... Surgery says yep....

It's all possibly been confused as when I collected the last lot of medication,  pharmacy A didn't have enough, and so gave me the paper prescription and I went to pharmacy B. Pharmacy B, who are nearer home and who are actually very helpful, have offered to ring my surgery and enquire for me.

There's no hurry, I've plenty to survive, and if needs be can buy the stuff over the counter in Thailand when I get there, but I've got a pre-paid certificate and so getting 6 months worth would work out cheaper if I can get them here....

Edit... pharmacy B have just called back. Apparently it's gone to Pharmacy C, 20 miles away but of similar name. C has forwarded it to B, and i can collect tomorrow.

Not sure if anyone has seen the stranded hikers near everest on the news, this was pulled from Alan Arnettes page.

The mainstream media is reporting 1000 "climbers stranded on Mt Everest." This is incorrect. An intense snowstorm hit southern Tibet and central Nepal, with blizzard conditions and heavy rain causing massive flooding and landslides. Roads and bridges were washed away. More than 47 people have died in Nepal and one in Tibet.

The people stranded are tourists hiking and trekking near the Tibetan town of Tingri, 20-30 miles north of Everest proper. Many have been rescued, but some remain stranded, with authorities unable to reach them currently. They are not climbers, and they are not on Mt. Everest.

The only people on Everest proper are (were) Jim Morrison, Jimmy Chin, several strong Sherpas-Pemba Gelje Sherpa, Pemba Ongchu Sherpa, and Yukta Gurung. They are attempting to ski down Everest’s Hornbein Couloir sponsored by Nat Geo and TNF. They are keeping a low profile, probably due to filming rights, so little is known of their condition.

I think you got cheated or it could be the lack of depth in the photo.

It's just the angle of the photo, that pile is bigger than it looks here.

Last potter of the season as she's pulled out next week.

Ironically I had a phone call during the week.... would I use her and myself to run a junior race series in November? Negative on 2 accounts....

1. Boat's on blocks in the carpark

2. I'm in a warmer place 😀

Turned my heating on for the first time. Just been getting a bit chillier lately, so set the heating to come on for a few hours in the morning, then again in the evening. Feels lovely here in 'less than sunny' Wales.

I been running it occasionally now for a few weeks.

Can't abide being cold and it has been well cool this past week, especially at night.

Kataleya has told me she is too hot now but the heating is due to go off in 20 mins. Cold one minute and hot the next. Set mine at 18 C.

After reading so many articles on turning on heating all day or when needed, I decided it was better to turn on twice a day. 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours at night works well right now, but I might extend those hours when needed.

Mine is on all of the time, but I adjust my thermostat up and down as and when I am home and cold.

Usually put up to 20 degrees for me to feel nice and cosy in the evening, but I turn it down again when I go to bed as I don't like to sleep too hot.

When I am away, I set it at 7 degrees to ensure no freezing or smelling musty.

New thermostat & a new valve up in the airing cupboard, hopefully good for the winter now.I know the owner of the plumbing company & have absolute trust in them.

We have the hot water & CH on all the time, control the CH on the thermostat.I turn the water off at the mains when we go to Thailand, part of the house insurance requirements for extended absences, but the CH is a sealed system so leave that on at around 12 deg.

I also turn off the stop cock when away.

My boiler is old style, (not a combi) so has an expansion tank in the loft.

Insurance require that, or run CH at 15 degrees. I also have to have the house inspected once per week, which my neighbour kindly does.

First long trip away I set my temp at 4 degrees thinking I only needed frost protection, but on returning the house smelled damp and musty, so now I run at 7. Unless it's a real cold winter, the heating very rarely kicks in at that, as I am well insulated.

A couple of days before returning home My neighbour boosts it up to 18 degrees for my arrival.

I don't run the hot water at all as I have an electric shower and if I need hot water I will boil the kettle.

Much easier when I live alone.

Just informed my insurer of my pending trip, and yes, water off, heating to 8°, property checked weekly and signed off. My thermostat has a holiday mode, and so 4 days before my return it goes back to normal (19° during the day, 16° at night) settings.

The insurer also wanted my letterbox sealed, obviously to stop someone fire-bombing thr place,  but due to the amount of junk mail I get (not postman based) I've had them remove that clause. After all, a pile of uncollected local magazines outside the door might be a bit of a give away the place is empty...

Yes my neighbours push any mail which is sticking out of the letterbox all the way through & one of them is going to do the inspection thing.

The other thing difficult was finding travel insurance, eventually got some with Virgin Money with max stays of 94 days.

On our building insurance ( apartment building ) ,  we are okay to be away for 60 days no inspections required , but any longer needs weekly inspections from the first week ... 🤷‍♂️

doesn't really make sense to me ..
