My deepest respect and love to all those brave soldiers and airmen that were incarcerated in Hanoi Hilton during the Viet Nam war. I was a B52 crew member 1964 - 1966 and was one of the "Lucky Ones" that was not booked into the Hilton. God Bless them as it was not easy for them. 4 1

Yes it was built by the French to house Vietnamese prisoners and they didn't treat the inmates well. Hanoi is an amazing place. I would recommend a lunch/stay at the Legend Sofitel Metropole, so much history.
