Clear cut decisions are easy, it's the ones where there are differing views but understanding how referees make decisions are reached will give the pundits the basis for a debate.

Same in Rugby , at least you understand the thought process behind the decision

Makes sense doesn’t it?

with all of the worlds top clubs in such close proximity, they really should have their own league.

Be great to watch, and to dream of Newcastle being promoted to Euro Super League.

Don't think the idea would have relegation or promotion.. more of a closed shop

No- that's what the Champions League is meant for.

This isn't sport, it's creating a cartel

How would bms define "big" when talking about football clubs?

The only thing the owners and backers of a Euro league care about is revenue, which clubs are going to draw the biggest tv/streaming audiences - nothing to do with history/ cups won - also about sponsorship so world wide following... match day receipts come in a poor third

Do away with champions league, have a super league that you be relegated, promoted  from ,put a salary cap in place and let’s see more of the best clubs in the world ,play each other more often.

I've said my piece before about this, who in their right mind from say Spain or Portugal is going to fly to Russia or Germany or Italy to watch a meaningless mid table game ? Look at the so called champions league after 3-4 games, it's not often there's much riding on the last couple of games as the big guns are usually already sorted by then.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, tell the so called big 6 in England to f**k off and don't come back, it'd make the Premier league / Division 1 the best it's been for decades.

You are making it sound like the NFL, and your right. But there won't be a salary cap, and like the NFL there won't be promotion of relegation.

So Man United with 4 recent seasons without CL football when it was competitive entry, would be guaranteed a place in perpetuity.

Brought to you by J P Morgan and FIFA😀 One's a total rotten, corrupt organisation, and the other- oh hang on that's both of them!

Well the ref certainly had a problem with Pickfords assault on Virgil VD, he got away with a deffo red card and a lengthy ban, HTF the ref/asst ref did'nt see it is beyond me.

If it was clear cut how come some of the pundits had completely differing views on what action should have been taken. Believe even one of Liverpool's own legends in the commentary box thought it was not a red card tackle.

VAR is used for that very reason and on this occasion it failed to act but probably only because VAR didn't know the rules.
