How do they do it, Thai retailers ?

Recommended Posts

Just ordered these for wifey from Lazada as her old pair finally bit the dust. Now how can the retailer make any money when selling at this price ?

Beggars belief imo, how much would they cost in the west ?

Well i now know why they're advertised at this ridiculous price, the order was cancelled and not by me lol

That's happened a couple of times to me as well, last time was just last week. I just reorder from a different seller and end up paying a few baht more than the original, too good to be true price.

BTW, Coming up in three days is the 6/6 June sale.

There's a couple of items I was going to order, but the seller was kind enough to give me a heads up I could save some money by waiting a few days.

One item is a resupply of shaving blades. Even though I'm heading back to the States end of this month for a short visit, the blades are still cheaper through Lazada.

Thanks, tried that but the price quoted was the same or very near the same ridiculous price so i expect the same cancellation.

Ooooh, that is interesting!

M'Lady wants me to buy her a cordless electric strimmer (Romantic eh!), maybe I could get one cheap from Lazada on the 6th...

I checked out some comparison videos on YT but the best one (EGO) isn't available here.

Do you, @Pumpuynarak or @ThaiTim have any recommendations that I can check out on Lazada ...??

I don't need reminding that @Pumpuynarak is buying his missus some sexy high heels and I am buying mine farming equipment but as my dear old Mum used to say "Red shoes no knickers"...I think it started during WWII when the yanks were in town  ...

I bought this one close to two years ago. Good for light duty work around the house. The 1 battery version is 899B, but I like having the spare battery handy when one runs low.

Just asked my lady how long the battery lasted. She said, "oh I don't know, I only use it for a little bit".

So that started a two minute back and forth on how long was a little bit. It would probably have gone quicker if I hadn't been a dick and started at five years as a starting point for defining "a little bit". :default_biggrin: I finally established that in this case "a little bit" is less than 15 minutes of use at a time.

No idea about how long it takes to charge the battery. I'd guess maybe 3 to 4 hours.

Pump....  I think those lipstick red heels would look good on you mate, sorry it didn't work out.

Shoes are an item I will never buy on-line. I'm also very hesitant to order any clothing items or electronics.

I do need a new nose hair trimmer which has been difficult to find in stores. But I am too arsed to fcuk with dealing with another Dog damn app. Lazada and Amazon sent me over the cliff.

Cliff, I hate to tell you this, as you know I am your Brother from another Mother but.................they did you a favor with those heels..believe me!  They would have been the cheapest, crap you ever bought quality wise and wifey would have hated you! They would not be remotely comfortable even at 299 baht!

Fast forward here.....you should really consider buying your wife heels from this Thai company called " SHU" Thai Owner, Designer and Made in Thailand. Quality to say the least, order online and you get free shipping. Take a look here, I bought the first 2 pairs of heels for wifey on line from L to R...the others were all bought in store and they have a location in Korat where you are.....they range in price from 2.6k baht to 2.7k baht....like most men, I do know a few things about heels......but even I was surprised at the quality here for the price. Wifey loves me for ever now.

Besides, you do not want to go into a night club up there in Korat, you go to the VIP section, order 15k baht bottle service. Your wife uses the restroom, she walks by other girls and they are "snickering" behind her back right? They are saying " Oiiiii, dis girl husband no hab money, he buy her heels off Lazada Na Ka" ??  You know you want to " save face" for her.....do the right thing Cliff! LOL!

I buy most of my clothes from the Castore app. Not cheap but proper quality. And they have regular sales where you can buy a £80 jogger bottoms for £25 for example.

Great pics Mike as usual TFP, love your wifeys shoe collection :default_goodjob: In fact i bought wifey the current red shoes that need replacing from the Mall shopping center here in Korat at a cost of 1650bht from memory. Wifey's going next week to buy again from The Mall.

My reason for using Lazada is the home delivery factor, i'm finding its so much easier to have goods delivered instead of driving into town what with the major roadworks we currently have.

I'll have a lookie at that 'SHU' website TFP.

I agree with this....

As you guys know I will do every thing possible to save every last baht on Lazada and Shopee...

But even I dont cheap out on shoes....Good shoes last for years....So in the long run cheap shoes are more expensive.....

Also......Sellers almost never ever cancel orders because its very bad for their costumer satisfaction scores.....Most times they will just let a unwanted order just sit there and rot till it expires...........You got lucky that they canceled...

The flip side to this are sellers who sit on a return request. They have three days to respond and if they don't Lazada automatically processes the return.

I just had one that timed out a few minutes ago. It was for three DC fans I wanted for additional cooling on some of my electronic gear. I made a mistake and had clicked on the 12v model instead of 5v. What surprised me with this auto processing of the return is Lazada decided to give me a refund of 163B instead of having me ship the fans back.

I've had it in the past when a seller issues the refund with no return required for small value items, but this is a first where Lazada made the decision for the seller.

I'm looking to buy a good rechargeable torch from Lazada, can anyone recco one ?

So many choices, so many varieties of torches/flashlights. Are you looking for something small, medium, or large? Something that provides good area lighting or a beam sufficient to light a path as you stumble home from the bar?

Well I have bought a few El-Cheapo rechargeable lights before.....And well....No surprise they turned out to be El-Crappy......lol

So I just went back to the old fashion batteries flash-light..

I would highly recommend buying a NON-Cheap rechargeable light that has a whole bunch of very good reviews......

I have the flashlight pictured below that I keep in my backpack that has worked well over the years. It's also small enough you can keep it in a pocket, and as a side benefit it would serve as a great conversation starter with the ladies asking about the bulge in your pants. :default_biggrin:

I also have the mini-LED and tripod which is great as a portable area light source when working on anything that requires both hands free. If you're shy about ladies talking about a bulge in your pants, then I would recommend the mini-LED, without the tripod of course.
