Soi Six Punch Up - Yesterday ?

Our sister site PA has a thread about a significant incident, looking like yesterday afternoon on Soi 6.

It appears to involve non payment of a bar tab of about B2000 by two Brits and allegedly (one ?) of them punching a Thai BG in the face.

From about this point there is video on the thread taken I believe from Reddit showing Security becoming involved, bars girls trying to stop escalation and the brits getting a thorough arse kicking and more.

A security guy has a bloody nose and towards the end of the video one of the brits while laying injured on the ground gets a run up kick in head from the security guy with the bloody (broken nose ?).

The video shows the Brit not moving with Thais trying to revive him.

I'm not sure about the rules about cross posting between the boards - but Mods please delete my post if there is a problem.

Posts in the thread say Police have charged 5 people and the Bar was raided last night - but that must be treated as hearsay as must everything I have typed here until it is confirmed etc.

No doubt the media will report more on this in the coming days.

These kind of altercations are often far from as straightforward as they might seem.

If it actually happened, no excuse for punching a Thai girl which in itself likely to result in the mob handed involvement of any Thai guys who witness the incident.

I'm banned so can't check the video but if it involves a NWG Bar and shows it in a bad light then the TPN won't cover the story so we'll have to wait for an unbiased media outlet to report it.

It appears to have been at Helicopter bar, not a NWG and it is on the southern side of the soi,

NWG Bars are on the northern side of the soi.

Also 'apparently' security is 'said' to be a contracted service and not inhouse these days - subject to confirmation etc.

I posted the following on PA after viewing the video.

Certainly a good warning to others to not start or get into a fight here. Those guards were definitely seeing red mist when they took down the two foreigners. What was totally uncalled for was the running kick to the head to the guy in the white shirt that was already down for the count. I sincerely hope there is no lasting brain damage from that kick. Very disturbing to see.

That kick at 17 seconds neither looks good nor fair.

The topic on PA was started 10 hours ago and has now devolved into the usual handbags at dawn catfight between a couple of BM's. Makes me appreciate all the more the rather civil back and forth that takes place on the forum.

I'm hoping we'll get an update on the condition of the guy that received the running kick to his head when he was already down and out of the fight.

It was a nasty looking kick.

Though there's absolutely nothing in the that video from anyone, start to finish, that comes as any surprise to me at all. 

Anyone with any sense about Thailand would not have gotten themselves in that situation. I'm not excusing the kick or anything else, but i can assure you, it never have got that far if it had been me.

As an aside, took me a couple of looks to see the kick, i couldn't get past the big fat arse! That said, she seems a decent sort.

I’ve been to Bangkok 8 times now but still never visited Pattaya. Seen lots of stories like this and it really puts me off.

It's still relatively rare to see any violence .... but I do try and avoid places popular with "Magaluf type" Brits and others

Soi 6 I'd I used to hang out afternoons ,nights a lot, every other month for over 10 years when living in pattaya,things like this few and far between,never seen trouble,certainly wouldn't let it put you off pattaya,a lot of fun can be had.

Unless you are going to do a runner on your bill or hit a bar girl in front of the staff, you should have a good a time in Pattaya as you would in Bangkok, Phuket or anywhere else.

Those scum who tend to think they can get away with disgusting behaviour in their local territory will likely find that the same behaviour in an unfamiliar location brings a whole new set of unexpected repercussions, some they probably never even thought of.

I have to say, if they hadn't done what they did, then they would have walked away and had an enjoyable evening, so the reason for what took place is down to them. That said, that kick was in itself disgusting, something the guy on the floor never contemplated when he tried to walk away from the bar without paying.

The foreigners should be penalised just as the security guy should. I think the penalty for the foreigners will be far greater which might include some sort of medical disability unless he has luck on his side.
