HH Condo Recommendation

Recommended Posts

I'm going to start my research early planning for a month or two stay in HH next March-May (worst of Chiang Mai smoke season).

I'd like to have a condo for my stay when I go to HH rather than bounce around aimlessly testing out different hotels. I'll also have a proper budget for living comfortable and worry free next time.

So.... I wanted to see if any of you blokes have a good recommendation for nice places in HH. I know there are a million videos out there but would prefer to start by hearing from any of you guys who have had some positive experience in finding a comfy place in HH.

- consider paying 15-25 k baht/month. (place must offer month to month rental, or be willing to negotiate).

- reasonable deposit

- clean and well cared for is priority. Size of place not important. Walking distance to 7/11 or other similar shopping important.

- View is nice but not absolute priortity

- Location.... anywhere reasonably close to the main road for easy access to transportation is a pluse

Thanks to anyone who has any ideas. If/when I find something that works good I will post here.

Don't think you'll have too many problems with your budget.

I'd suggest you'd be best off getting on your preferred booking site, book a couple of mini trips and try out a few places for a day or two. Had heard flights from CM to HH are really cheap at the moment, why put if off?

Got to find the place that feels right for you, regardless of what anyone else thinks!!

I've stopped in La Casita that hits everyone of your criteria especially "clean and well cared for is priority. Size of place not important. Walking distance to 7/11 or other similar shopping important."

The corridors and lifts are being cleaned right through the day. There's a large grounds crew that are often out watering the trees, plants, and maintaining them.

Downside there's development started on a new wing of BKK hospital- how disruptive will that be who knows? I was paying 14k for a small studio( 28 sq metres) with a balcony, that started off being 16k in high season. New developments are coming soon Mira Monte on Soi 94 and La Cabana so supply of rental units isn't stagnant

You will be able to choose from several developments on Agoda etc for a daily rental to use as a fact finding mission.

Don't waste your time with online estate agents for longer lets in Hua Hin- they are hopeless. Facebook marketplace is the way to go

Great info. Lemon.

The La Casita gives me a starting point (good location, the possible construction could be a put off, but I bet could help bring down the rates quite a bit). Good point about Agoda. I will use it as a research tool, I refuse to book on those sites anymore, unless absolutely necessary.

And Yes Air Asia has a wonderful direct flight to/from HH - CM 3 or 4 days per week.

Good idea.... why not go down sooner for a quick visit. I have been planning a week in Sept. for a visit to Patts (mostly biz related), but I may do a quick 3 nighter down to HH before that. I'll weigh that all out.

Big thanks.

Another random thought- room orientation, I'd avoid rooms with a pool view in Hua Hin like the plague.

I've known three seperate couples/individuals change condos in HH in a six month spell I was there because of the noise coming up off the pool.

Given a customer base of tourists, BKK weekenders and recently arrived expats, some of these will have small kids. Nothing against kids but you really have to hear to believe how much noise carries up several floors in developments orientated around a large pool

I've met some really decent Russians in Hua Hin, super smart and very polite. Was told though that Russian kids don't go to school till they are 13? Imagine the noise from 6pm till 10 pm when the pool "closes"?

Something I'd never have thought of.

Aside from La Casita I saw a fantastic unit in the Marvest Condo that was perfect except it was on the first floor over-looking the main Phet kasem Road. Given a better placed unit I'd have moved in there like a shot.

Yes correct. Then they leave school at 15 to join the red army or work down the mines.

I can recommend La Castila, I stayed there last year for a few days, room was on third floor and excellent, it did over look the pool but I had no issue with the noise.

Close to Soi 94 and the two main shopping areas.

One issue that stopped me rebooking for this years trip was the round shape of the pool, I like doing lengths and due to it's shape that's not possible when there are three or four others trying to do the same thing.

I contacted LaCasita. They gave a nice response but rambled someting about the construction. They then mentioned something about a "pool side' room, but turns out that would not be availabe during the time I will be there.

Besides, just as for the reason you noted. Pool side rooms are a no-go for me, ear splitting sceaming is not my kind of a holiday, at least not that kind of screaming.

That's a fair comment. None of the people I knew who had real issues with noisy kids were at Casita. All were in developments on the beach side of the Phet Kasem road. Makes sense if you are on holiday with kids you want to be as close to the beach as possible.

I spent six months there, my room was as far away from the pool as physically possible. 3 floors up like you, I'd hear nothing in room, there was one week when I'd open my door and I hear noise right away. Would have been hell for a week or so if you had to put up with it

However only a week I would stop there again, can't really say any more than that.  Should haver phrased my post better, with more context.

Once stayed at that giant place (the one that had the awful fire) in Jomtien during xmays holidays because my usual place was booked up.

Never have I heard such racket. Kids and mopes during the day, dogs at night, it was miserable.
