Lovely little surprise mate. That will get you a few high class hell raisers indeed. I love to go to that party.

I do better on the scratch cards on the Lotto, I have done about 20 tickets together with a mate over the last month, no more than 1 number on a line, bloody awful luck. I am sticking to one ticket a week now or continuing with scratch cards where my luck is pretty good. 2
Siam Addict Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 In the early 90's I was Mini Cabbing on a Saturday night and I was listening to the draw live. As I pulled up outside my fares address I had gotten the first four numbers and I was debating if i got the next two numbers whether or not I would pick up the fare or just head of to the pub. Ended up with just £40 for the four numbers. 1 3

boydeste Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 I do the same 4 lines of numbers since the start. Got 4 numbers a few times but generally it's a lucky dip or small prizes. Got to be in it to win it though! 2
Butch Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 I've had all 6 numbers on 2 different lines before, first 3 on the top, second 3 on the bottom line. so £20 instead of £14 million. I went home and kicked the Dog. 1 6

Lirchenfeld Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 Congrats with the 1700. It is way better than nothing.

I grew up in "the numbers" area on the South Side. Mostly confined to the "ghetto" areas. Any Mama or Dude that was lucky enough to pull down 1,700 surely spent more than 2-3 grand on that the prior year. It's only offsetting nothing. Still ends up with less than nothing.
Scottie Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 I have a home competion and pay £12 a week.The prize I had last week was£10.Load of rubbish.
Jambo Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Light years ago I played in a darts team. There were 8 of us in the team, mostly mates with a couple of regulars in the pub to complete the team. We were not very good but thanks largely to the very peculiar shape of the darts bar in the Birkbeck Tavern we won most of our home matches. 😄 My mate Woody (RiP) persuaded us all to lob in a pound a week to do the football pools. Woody collected the money sometimes each week or a lump sum from time to time. It didn't matter because it all went into Woody's week book. Except one guy (not us mates) always had to be chased up and eventually decided to drop out of the syndicate. We won! Not the top prize but each of the 7 of us collected from memory about £1,400 plus change. In those days, that was enough to take the wife and I over to Callor Millor, Majorca for a week plus a new fridge and a washing machine. I will never forget that Woody had about three attempts to write me a cheque for my share because he was so nervous he kept fucking it up! Our home darts match immediately after the win was the piss up of the year. Unfortunately, we were one team member short that night. In fact, he was never seen in the pub again.🤣 1 2
