Spyder
How many times can you enter Thailand using the visa waiver? I saw that this might now be restricted to twice per year. I flew in earlier this year but only stayed overnight before a flight the next day to Japan. I then returned from Japan and stayed in Thailand for 12 days. That would be 2 entries already. I have planned a trip inNovember with a side trip to Laos. That would be 4 entries….will that be a problem?

I have used the visa waiver multiple times in a year previously when doing short trips with no problems. Then after a 3 months visit on a TV, the immigration officer refused me entry on my first visa waiver of that year. Go figure! nampla69
Never had a problem ever. Been in multiple times in a year with visa waiver and also after 2 and 3 months visa etc but depends on officer .... they seem to be encouraging visitors again so should be no problem. Keep smiling and dress nicely on entry.... 1

The two entry rule was only ever for land borders although some embassy websites mistakenly mention it as a general rule. It was rescinded for land border crossings just a few weeks ago, however as mentioned all entries are at the discretion of the IO who has to be satisfied your visit is valid. I got escorted off for interrogation by two senior officers. I had to explain what I had been doing for the previous 3 months in country, then explain why I had returned having only spent 10 days at home. Fortunately I had travelled around more than previous trips, so was able to demonstrate that I am the perfect tourist spending money in hotels, restaurants and bars whilst enjoying the temples, fishing and beaches. I got asked several direct questions about my work status and whether I had a Thai wife or girlfriend etc. My passport was 9 years old and full of the old visas we got that took up a full page, plus many stamps from recent years. I believe they suspected that I was working in country illegally. I also had to go through what and where I was hopefully planning on doing for the next 2 months whilst there. Again, I had an outline of my plans, including a couple of fishing trips to Udon and Korat already booked. After all of that, they had a long chat in Thai, then the senior guy stamped me in and wished me a pleasant stay. I will say that both of the senior officers were very polite and spoke fluent English. After my 30 days I did a side trip to PP for a week and returned on another visa exempt stamp with just the question asked of how long I was in country for. So it is very much up to the IO whether you get an easy ride in or not. Last winter I went in on a 60 day TV with the same passport, but renewed it once home for a clean new one! No issues on my return that time. I have since obtained another new passport because the last one got a ride in my washing machine and tumble dryer, so next entry will be on a shiny new one again! Lol. 1 4

Self entitled, left wing champagne socialist without whom the World would be a much better place. Her old man is an even bigger c**t, if indeed that's possible - on par with Tony bliar as far as the cuntishness stakes go. One of the Notting Hill trendies I think. Go Tactical Nuclear on the whole lot of 'em. 1
