Wow, if that beer is in date, they can't be making much profit on that methinks.

Pretty sure it's not going to be old stock because they're advertising all the bottle beer they carry it would be hard for Distributors to have outdated stock with everything they have I would guess anyway.

The 5 baht difference might tell us something about the margins - or the 3 baht above the 50 baht and 45 baht price points, but I confess I'm just guessing at that.

They'll have to sell a lot of beer to make a half decent profit - but that's not what it's about I reckon, just getting the footfall into the bar and letting the girls gently pressure for LD's perhaps?.

Either way, a price war on beer won't be a bad thing. We just need a price war on LT & ST prices next...

How about bar fines?

Because the bar would take any discount out of the cut the girl gets, and she would then add it to the ST or LT figure in order to make up the shortfall. Possibly.

I forgot about the Thai logic of increasing prices when too high prices already drive customers away.

I doubt that one small bar lowering prices will have much influence on prices in other bars. It is a single unit bar, thus they can handle relatively few customers. It might attract a few sponges who normally would not go to LK Metro, but once they see there is no room for them, they will go visit other bars with normal prices or they usual swamp.

Most clients, alcoholics excluded, visit bars because of the female staff and not for the price of drinks.

Cheap beer can be the only reason for going into that place, so it's probably not surprising.

Below are the latest prices we're paying when I buy beer/softies from a distributor for our hash runs. Price difference between Leo and SML is 10.6B. Margins are better on the local beers.
