Pattaya to Hua Hin by air.

I'm sure most will probably already know about this but I stumbled across this info whilst looking at Hua Hin and Cha Am condos and apartments.

Seeing as the ferry thing is a no go from Pattaya this could be interesting for those who don't already know.

Don't believe it.

This is the latest I've read from a credible source.

And these are only proposals to add Udon Thani and Hat Yai as routes from Hua Hin.

Brilliant if it happens 👍

Wouldn't it be brilliant if they started a direct route from UTP to UBP ...!!!!

We used it a lot to get to Don Muang and back when visiting in-laws in Pathum Thani back in early 2000’s. Great service and ideal for what we wanted.
International flights would be ideal, but can’t see it happening anytime soon.

This interests me as in future years I’ll be spending more time in Thailand so the flight between udon and Hua Hin would be useful as I’ve always fancied staying in both places. We have a house in udon 45mins outside town so  we will probably sell at some point band buy somewhere nearer the city centre and then use that as a base and mooch around to different places with HH firmly on that list

My punting brain would put it as a 20/1 shot. Not without a chance but a bonus if it comes in!!

I'm a whole 1 year into living here but can feel the gap between what's been proposed/discussed and what's occured and it's a yawning gap.

Hope it happens but wouldn't plan around it myself 😜

Quite a few airlines over the years have proposed or operated flights, only for them to stop or not materialise.

There was an expected schedule for flights from UTapao to Hua Hin when I was living there, back around 2017, but the approval was for a charter and not for a schedule service and the airline wasn't allowed to start services. Sure it was Lion Air or Air Asia, can't remember.

There have been flights to Kuala Lumpur and Had Yai but they were stopped. A great service, that I actually flew on, was Nok Air between Don Muang and Hua Hin using a Saab 340, only took 25 minutes. Very convenient but that lasted 1 season.

I suppose I could add that the lack of flights (for tourists etc.,) is the reason that Hua Hin is a great choice to live for me and allows me the quality of life I crave. It has busy times but nothing like the major beach resorts that most tourists flock too.

It does get hit at weekends with Bangkokians coming down to Cha Am but Hua Hin never gets overloaded, and I like it that way. Of course my view is that of a person who doesn't have a business, a whole set of different opinions would probably be forthcoming if I needed to derive a revenue stream.

The crowds from Bangkok are way down in Hua Hin due to the midnight closing of bars and Thai pubs.

I'll be honest and say that works for me, very rarely find me out after midnight anyway. A good feed, usually at Baan Khunpor Food Court (soi 88) and a few drinks in Soi 94, I am usually in bed well before midnight.

The weekend beaches in Cha Am are the areas usually quite full with Bangkokians though, I love going there but during the week only. Consuming cooked live prawns at around 280 baht a kilo sipping a large Chang is my style.
