For most people IG is mainly a photography and video app/website.

If you don't like it, you don't have to look.

. . .

a few of my IG posts...

Not hardly.......Click the search symbol and start clicking away in a VAST VAST universe of videos..........These videos are what I am talking about...

These videos are about every thing from A to Z on Planet Earth

I have watched loads of them

Sure I learned a lot and had some laughs but I am still not sure if its a wast of time or not....

I tend to skip over most IG videos and focus on still photography.

Most serious photographers have an IG account. It may not be their main account but it's an advantage (for some) to have a presence there. Many people use IG to provide links to other apps (usually with an aggregator site).

Most businesses (e.g., retail, restaurants, services, photo models, etc.) also have IG accounts.

Looking at IG (like everything else on the internet) is optional and no one is forced to look at any of it. Unless they like to be annoyed and have something to complain about. 😉

Funnily enough, when I was working for British Airways in Customer Relations, we handled social media enquiries via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The Instagram stuff was mainly videos sent to BA of passenger experiences, mostly positive. The trolls used Twitter with every expletive you could think of; the genuine issues were usually sent on Facebook.

Personally I have never used Instagram or have intention to use it. Twitter (X), never will also.

I don't look much at Instagram anymore, although some of the car stuff is impressive I tend to just not bother.

My daughter has it, and I'm shocked at how many narcissists occupy the place these days and the idiots that repost them.

Certainly was an eye opener. I left BA in 1989 but was asked to help out in 2022 to reduce the backlog of customer complaints, it was a 3 month contract.

I was shocked by how we were perceived and how we were expected to deal with complaints. It had changed since I was part of a very dedicated and professional staffing.

The language used by customers via social media, Twitter especially, shocked me and I found it very difficult to deal with issues, as a lot of the complaints I actually found I agreed with.

It was a different airline in 2022 from the one I joined in 1973.

It was noticeable when comments, such as 'I have been a Gold Card Member for 20 years but your service is now no better than EasyJet' were regularly received, it was very difficult to deal with.

That is why I always go easy on you guys..... IMO, you guys are on my side. When I get hold of a smart CS Rep I feel like I hit the jackpot. Because I know that without them I am fcuked. they are my only hope.

I also try to develope a quick bond and recognize what they are contending with (fcucked up company poloicy, long hours, shitty pay, working with some fat assed gas bag next to you fpr 10-12 hours, wearing a God damn headset, and dealing with 90% of people who are either pissed off, stupid as fcuk, and/or worst of all BOTH)

But let me tell you something mate. That training you got through all of those years doing that, will pay dividends for you. Because there is no way you could have made it that long if you hadn't had your shit together.

I take a sincere bow to you sir......:default_bow:
