As many bars as possible, or find one and stay?.

Bit of a double edged question really.

When in town , do BM's prefer to visit a swathe of bars and cover a fair bit of ground, or just go out, look for a place you're comfortable in and stay there, or do you just go to a bar you're previously familiar with and stay for a while and move on to another familiar bar?.

The "hit and miss" but nowadays more "miss" aspect of Pattaya would lead to some of us perhaps going to a familiar bar and staying there, but last trip I got caught out a bit, as my usual haunts (Jibbys and Town Bar in Treetown) were both lacking in the atmosphere and attraction that they had previously. As a result I changed my routine and went seeking different bars, but struggled to find somewhere which I felt comfortable and relaxed in.

If I manage to get out there again in the near future, I think I'll adopt the "seek and ye shall find" strategy of visiting a large number of bars and seeing what turns up.

I have a tendency to visit a number of bars and other venues until I find one where I am comfortable. Once I have found one where I am comfortable, I usually stick around there until I am not anymore.

Shit yeh... Pattaya has it's fair share of bars where "familiarity breeds contempt" that's for sure !!

Over the years I think there is only one bar I always visited...... others I would drift from one to t'other every few months or so...

Before Blues Factory opened there was a bar called Hand Rock near the entrance that I would always use. Great band, cheap beer, cheap bottles of Sangthip and great company.. Loved it in there !!!

Very true and in many cases, noticeable. I had a chat with @Nightcrawler where he had this happen in a Bar on Soi Honey, the manager began to take his customers for granted.

It's always nice to be remembered, but I tend to look elsewhere when the girls start to hang around expecting a drink and then sulk if they don't get one.

For a number of years after I first moved here I enjoyed ranging far and wide, checking out different bars and music venues. But as the years here added up, it's become a been there done that, and what's new doesn't interest me for one reason or another. Now I've become a creature of habit and only stop in at a select few.

My favorite is when a sulking girl takes her hand and does a cheers with your drink, with her empty hand holding her imaginary drink...

Many guys cave in right away when girls do this....

I’ve got a couple of regular bars on Soi Nana I tend to stick to, I’ve known some of the girls for years and always have a good time. Probably boring for some guys.

Now and then I’ll try somewhere different like the Soi 7 bars which can be great fun.

My bar nights are very limited nowadays in general (wherever I am).

Back in the hey days (back in the States) I had 3 of them. On a typical night I would start out at a dive my best friend owned, get primed up there and then hit one or both of the others looking for tail.

----------------------------------

When in Patts I don't do much bar hopping anymore, just go wherever any mate happens to be or follow them around on a crawl. Now that Dolls has gone there isn't any place I get very excited about. I do enjoy an afternoon/evening in TQ every now and then. Beyond that it is all pretty much same same to me.

-----------------------------------

Many bar owners/managers have their heads up their asses. Never properly managing, never showing appreciation (occassional beer on the house, etc.). I tend to end up in places where I like the manager/owner who is often in the bar. Mostly for a good chat and some laughs. Those types of places tend to attrack others who have good/fun attitudes also which makes for a good time.

Code used to rave about the bars on Soi 7 (BKK). I used to stay on that Soi for a few years but never seemed to see much action.
