Not seen anything from Laz' for a few days now, most unusual, i hope all is ok for him.

Although my personal preferences differ to many people i still enjoyed viewing his titillating pictures of all shapes and sizes.

I read the comments from some people who found them inappropriate for various reasons, but the obvious answer to that is not to look at any threads that you don't agree with or are not to your taste.

If all is well, please get back to your regular posting Mr. Laz......

He last posted on November 12. Maybe you could drop him a  PM to see how he is and why he hasn't posted since then.

I sent him a PM a while back (unrelated to anything here) and he didn't repsond, which I thought was unusual.

Maybe he is taking a break from a bent poster in the pol. section. If so, I can't blame him.

I hope he comes back, he's a great poster. Just forget the moron in the pol. section Laz. He's not worth it.

Whatever the reason, I hope we see him return to posting again soon on the main forum, in particular. All things can get resolved in the end if there is a will. We are a Community made up of lots of different characters, but we all have, at the very least, one thing in common.

In talking with Matt, he will no longer post on here....at this point, I will not try to convince him other wise. Being called a few choice names by one of the BM'S here in the VIP section was uncalled for the way I see it. Matt did NOT respond to that, but did ask the Moderators to remove that post...not only did they not remove the post, they did NOT respond to him directly and explain in a plausible way why his request was not acted on.  That post is still on here today.

Unfortunate, very unfortunate.

Because of this I have decided to cease (once again) any and all posting in the pol. section. It's just not worth it. One clown can wreck it for the entire crew.

Now that the election is over.... well, it is what it is. Not worth dealing with a nitwit. I hope he feels like he (we all know who he is) has accomplished something.

I am aware that there was some animosity between @lazarus and another member.  I personally had a long discussion with @Nightcrawler.  The issue was the large number of different threads contains images of scantily clad young ladies.  The gist of one particular complaint was that something like eight of the first ten new content posts were all these ‘pin up’ type threads.  The marmite principle apples to these threads; either love them or hate them.

There is a reporting system on the forum.  When a member reports a post, it flags up an alert to the moderator team.  There is then a facility for a moderator to close that report and a free text field to facilitate discussion and reasons for whatever decision has been made.

At present all reports have been closed.

@Yessongs could you please send via a PM a link to the offending post.  I will arrange for the moderation team to re-review it.

Why not solve the problem completely and get rid of the polictics forum?

Was it ever the aim of this board to provide a safe space for one established member to cal another a "f******g  twat" and for that to be acceptable?

Looking at the comments above it appears it happened in the VIP section ?

Far better to deal with the offender & offence if the mods feel it appropriate.

I'd like to see the return of Laz very much

It began in the politics section. Laz then opened a topic in the main board linking to the politics section and asking for the offending comment to be removed .

The thread was closed off, the comment is still in place and Laz has gone.

As best as I understand it he's not  the only decent poster we've lost over arguements over politics.

And we need that on a Thailand board, why?

Having absolutely no interest in the political section(s) of this board I am blissfully unaware of the posts in question.

I thought it was the moderators' role to deal with members who "cross the line."

Shame to see any member leave through the actions of another. Maybe he will return if he realises he is the one who loses the most from departing from the forum.

At least he left with dignity. I can recall a couple of occasions on the Secrets forum when individual members left in a wave of righteous indignation, throwing their toys in all directions as their pram disappeared over the hill. 🤣

The other side to that of course, is that Political discussions would find their way onto the main Thailand forums and detract from.the main focus of tbe Forum and some arguments would naturally develop. Having seen this happen on other forums in the past, the decision by Lanzalad and Tommy Dee to have a separate section of the Forum was to avoid that happening, rather than banning all political discussions which probably would not have gone down well with some.

I have not heard directly from Lazerath as to why he has not been posting but it is the assumption by some that it is due to an issue in the Politics section as opposed to the main Forum.

As JL has mentioned, it is something that we will look into, and hopefully with a positive outcome. Certainly there are absolutely no restrictions on his account and obviously his  personal decision

I would rather that he contacted us directly for further discussion, privately and I am sure that the issue can be addressed without making it a feature of the Forum.

The other alternative is to moderate the Politics Club more diligently than has been. Something else to look into perhaps.

I never understood the complaint about the threads that Laz created. His threads never overburdened the forum, he just tended to post most of his threads at one time and, therefore occasionally you would open up and see quite a few of his threads in New Content.

Simple way to read the forum is - open up, read the threads you are interested in and then, before signing out, 'Mark as Read' all others that you have no interest in. For me that is easier than getting upset that there are threads you don't like. There are plenty of threads that I don't read, due lack of interest, but I don't pour out my displeasure and complain or attack the author of those threads.

This forum is probably busier than most, and when I switch on in the morning, there are plenty of threads of differing subject matter. Why, therefore do people have to sling cheap shots at another poster unless it was just a personal attack created over a dispute within the politics club. Sounds childish and that child should have been reprimanded.

Already @Krapow hadn't posted for a while and I noticed others also lacking in posts. Maybe this politics section is the reason.

I left another forum because of the constant chaos created by certain members that were not moderated, in fact I think the chaos was actually welcomed and it wasn't for me.

Just as a side note where is @Golfingboy, haven't seen him post for a while.

The posts directed at Laz, while in the politics section, were not about politics.

I have had a conversation this afternoon with @Nightcrawler, who will contact @lazarus by PM to discuss both issues:

  • The inappropriate post
  • The preponderance of 'Pin Up' image threads on the forum.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread.

I am now locking the thread because it has served its purpose of bringing the two issues to the moderator's attention.
