Radii Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 I finished my technical university and done also vocational course and I moved to the UK for work when the borders was opened at the age of 29. In couple of months I will be 49. My daughter is currently 6. We have everything here including our own new house without any debts and probably I will buy another house for my daughter in the relatively near future. Regarding my daughter age and my working period of time I need to stay here at least 12 more years or a little bit more. But I am not seeing myself working till age of 67 or 68 or 70. I should retire sooner than I will die. So I will have retire a little bit early. I am not planning to invest any money in Thailand such as restaurants or gogo bar. I can have quiet life in the province where my wife is from and visit Pattaya or Bangkok by bus from time to time and have some fun depending how the money allows. The sources of of money would be my pension, property rental from UK and I can do also writing a technical books and do some software engineering with it (writing the programs and release it with books) which might add to my income as well a little bit. I was thinking also that it might be possible 10 years from now to work some months to n UK and spend some time in Thailand, but I don't think so that many companies will allow me such work arrangements except of I have short term contracts, so probably would be much easier to work full time untill I retire from my full time job and in meantime prepare everything else to be ready. This is my plan at least at this moment. I have seen a lot of different stories about how people settled there in Asia. Currently there is plenty of it on YouTube from guys which moved to Thailand or Philippines. But each story is different. 2
