My laptop has got stuck in Restart mode.

Can someone recommend a trustworthy repairer, please.

Just out of interest have you tried holding the start/power button for 12 seconds? It does work sometimes.

Never used them, but have heard good things about a place behind tukcom... ?pattaya4u?... the name eludes me! From memory down the left had side (standing on Tai), turn  left at the back of tukcom.

@Yesitisdakid knows them

I've tried pressing it on and off a few times, but not holding it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try when I get back.

My laptop only starts up when I keep my finger pressed continuously on the start button for around 10 seconds.

Remove the battery before you do it if it slots out easily.

I had a similar problem with my previous laptop. The problem went after I went to close and update. It took ages, when I turned it back on but eventually got there. I got ride of all files and programnes/apps that I no longer used or needed and save some to an ext drive

The problem disappeared

That said, it's never that simple and there are all sorts of reasons, including even corrupt HD .

Always worth trying oneself before surrendering it for repair

There seems to be quite a few places in TUKCOM that offer PC and tablet repairs.

Yes, it is the "trustworthy" bit which is difficult!

It was like that for about 50 minutes before I went out to eat.

I was gone over an hour, and I'm very pleased to say that it unstuck itself by the time I got back. 😄

That's good. It may have been updating itself

It is possible diagnose somethings online or even by yourself. Firstly you need to determine if it is software of hardware problem.

Sometimes electrostatic remains on the power or reset buttons an needs to clear it. Simply remove the power and battery and push power buttons hard  for a couple minutes or so and the put battery back and let it charge a little bit with power adapter the switch it on. If the problem still exists try to boot any system from CD or DVD or from USB disk this can be Linux Live CD from any recent PC newspaper. Check if is not restarting itself under Linux.

Check if power adapter charging the battery working and if there are no interruptions of power supply. Check is is not overheating, must to have enough room for air flow from sides and bottom. And must be in air conditionined room.

This everything you checked yourself probably. Or in any mobile repair shop can do for you in 30 minutes or so.

Sometimes needs to replace the processor fan or simply install Windows again. Replacement of processor fan is doable if you have instructions of disassembly of the particular modes and the replacement fan. This might take let say 2 hours or so but I would not recommend this route for someone have no experience.
