Hi lads I'm currently in Phuket , but leaving tomorrow my bro in law usually lends me the truck while I'm up there , but he's currently down in Chonburi with it so that's a no go.

I've googled a few companies and Buriram expats seemed reasonable (if it even exists anymore?)

Ideally I need it straight from the airport on landing tomorrow.

Any ideas or experience anyone?

I usually go to the family house in the village , but my kids are 17 and 13 now and have no interest in staying there that's why I need ot to get to the hotel in town and travelling to and from etc.

Thanks in advance

Hope you're all well and all tje best for 2025

Ended up with one for future reference anyone needs one there's about 4 different rental places in the airport ranging from 1000 baht for a car to 2k for a 7 seater per day.

Can also recommend the Cresco Hotel if anyone's up this way opposite Buriram FC was staying 3 nights , but just one extra on agoda £29 (was actually cheaper for me to pay on agoda) with a buffet breakfast.

Top class gym if that's your thing ranging from two bags loads of decent cardio and weight equipment and a decent outside pool.

Will get some pics for anyone interested later on .

Mate I know you know what you're doing etc but it may be worth checking what licence you need directly with the hire company.

I recently heard of a guy who tried to rent an Avis car at Udon airport and they wanted to see an International Driving Permit (he didn't have a Thai licence). This was something to do with insuarance apparently and the upshot was that his wife ended up hiring the car in her name (she is Thai and has a licence).

Maybe absolutely nothing in it and you already have all the bases covered but TIT.........

Its a good point. My UK licence has expired (i think it expired or maybe i had to change from paper to plastic) and difficult to renew without a UK address. So i use my Singapore licence which is 100% valid. But sometimes people think the licence country has to match the passport.

Thanks mate ..

I brought my international licence as well as my U.K licence (that's also the only licence my Mrs has U.K too) as I always rent a moped up in Phuket and Patts sometimes still got two years left on it and I renewed my U.K before I got out here.

Always good to bring it to someone's attention though.

They photocopied both licences , my passport and hers too.

Cheers pal

Also worth noting for anyone not in the know the International Licence for anyone who doesn't know is a simple trip into a Post Office taking your driving licence and a passport photo .

Takes literally 5 mins for them to copy the info stamp the relevant boxes in the international and hand them both back to you .

It now lasts 3 years (was only one at one point) Last time I renewed it it was £5.50 no excuses at that price.
