I still just go to Jomtien to do the 90 day......Out of habit I guess.....The Online 90 day was seriously screwed up for years and years....So I never trusted it.....

Its only a few hours out of my life in a year to go there....

But plenty of people do the online reporting now....

My last 90 day took me 5 min. online

- next day they sent me a reject email (no reason given, as usual)

- day after that they sent me an email and said "they found the problem" (again, no explanation given) - and it was "approved".

Yesterday I realized I was in the time available that I could do my 90 day. So I went on to do it filled it out it was different from the last form I filled out so I guess this is a new thing in any event I was told that they cross-check the 90-day reports with the filing of a TM 30 online . I don't believe this is correct because I have never did a TM 30 and I'm in and out of the country frequently. I was really surprised I thought I would get rejected because of this but at 9:00 a.m. this morning I got my approval online. I guess this means the left hand still doesn't know what the right hand is doing regarding the 90-day check-in anyway. I'm not disappointed by any means😊

I had to report in person earlier this month as my online report was bounced- I'd done a Philippines trip.

I was asked for a TM30 as was the gent in front of me. He was into his 70s and was upset claiming he'd never been asked to do one before. He was given his 90 day stamp but told next time he would have to have evidence of a submittted TM30

Purely annecdoctal of course, just one immigration office and they all have considerable individual leeway.

Totally agree mate.

My opinion, as with most onerous tasks, is to fit it in with other day-to-day activities and it is hardly a noticeable problem.

When I lived in Pattaya I walked past Cambodia Inter at least twice a week so it was a simple task of dropping off my passport.

Here I have no problem driving an hour to Ubon because that is where the nearest Makro and big Big C are located so everything fits in nicely.

However! I can see why others do it online because it is convenient for them not having to drag their asses across to Jomtien to do it in person..

I had to do that a week ago as it was my first one since I'd returned from the UK. Got there around 12:45 and joined the ticket queue, then noticed that the paperwork required now includes a copy of your TM30 slip, so I left the queue and went to get a photocopy made. Why the Hell do they want that, they don't even ask for it when you're doing an annual extension? Fecking eejits. By the time I got back, around 20 people had joined the queue so I was  even further away from the desk. I eventually handed over my papers and passport around 1:15, was given a number and told to come back 'after an hour'.

The place was busier than Bombay Bus Station, and with all the flu and Covid and norovirus around, not to mention HMPV, I decided to go for a drive for an hour. I called in Burger King near the night market for a snack, then headed back. It's so busy there on times that you can't even find a place in the car park on Soi 5, though the unpleasant bint at the entrance is happy to relieve you of your 40 Baht and won't give you a refund if there are no spaces left, so nowadays I just park up by the Soi Rompho bars and walk down.

I got back around 2:20 and the 90-day place was even more packed as everyone from an hour ago had returned to get their passport while lots of new customers continued rolling in. There's no semblance of any plan or order, the issuance is totally random, and my number was eventually called about 20 minutes later. So it took almost exactly 2 hours from the time I got there until the time I left with the 90-day report slip safely stapled on top of the TM30 slip in my passport. My passport's almost new and practically empty, what's wrong with these 90-day morons?

Contrast that to the experience pre-Covid, when you might have queued for 5 minutes to get a number, then possibly had to wait another 5 or 10 minutes for the cop to call your number, though often there was no one waiting. Fifteen or 20 minutes, instead of 2 hours. Are there six or eight times as many expats living here and doing 90-day reports now compared with 2019 to justify the huge extra delay? I think not, it's just bureaucratic inefficiency and incompetence. Next time, I'll use a frigging agent.

That is what they want you to do as that is more money into the Thai economy (they think, you can only spend it once) together with a kickback from the agent.

It's all about the money.

Once they verify that you dropped a load that year they are happy.    time = money (honey)
