It gives me great pleasure to see pillars of the celebrity world brought down by revelations of where they really come from, etc....this one is particularly egregious, she has masqueraded as a full-blooded "First Nations" representative for decades, yet the truth finally caught up with her. I'll give her credit for being a fine songwriter, although I never did like her own performances as she is one who tends to bleat rather than actually sing; others have made big money and fame from her compositions, however, and I doubt she will die in penury:

I saw her a couple of times in the late sixties at the Troubadour in West Hollywood.  Initially I didn't like her all that much, but later on I began to enjoy some of her work.  I still have a couple of her LPs.  I'm pretty cynical, so I'm not too bothered by what's behind the mask.
