Thought this was on Cowboy on firstl look, going to investigate more.

It is in fact a night club in the Davis hotel at the bottom of Soi 24 at the Rama IX end. Hardly glamourous

I wonder how much of the 59K service charge went to the staff?

I was trying to remember the largest individual check bin we had in Secrets?   Not up to that level but well on the way.

We had so many very large bar bills often signed to the room. More than once I had to speak to a hotel customer and make sure they knew what they were doing and, as required, politely ask them to make a payment on account.

Any number of funny stories.

One guy on his first ever trip to Thailand lost the plot and realised he had maxed out his credit card on his bar bills. We didn't exactly lock him in his room but he was on watch in case he tried to do a runner. About 30 minutes before he should have been in a taxi to the Airport Reception tells me there is a lady on the phone asking for me. Turned out to be his "Mum", a really nice lady but in a "I am going to kill him" mood as she gave me all her credit card details to settle the bill. Six months later, back he comes and does it all over again having increased the limit on his own CC. 😄

Then we did have another customer who did do a runner leaving a really large hotel and bar bill. He got into a taxi to the Airport chased by our doorman on the office motorbike. We had a copy of his passport so we were on the point of notifying the police when there is another phone call to Reception. This turned out to be his boss anxious to settle his bill before his employee is arrested. At least they thought he would end up in a Thai Cell.

Happy days!

Until it wasn't.

6 ice buckets for 720. hmm..

No way I would pay 120 baht for a bucket of ice, unless I could use the bucket as a helmet and take it with home.

Anyone happy to spend £14k on a night out isn't going to be worried about £3 for an ice bucket ...

Reading the Google translate above seem like this has been done by the daughter of the owner(but transltate throws up some very strange things)

459000 was the bill in Secrets but that same customer spent over 200 a few nights before that and 140 a few nights later. I still keep in touch with him he's in Australia married to a Chinese lady who's a big real estate person on the Gold Coast they've got a few rentals and a beautiful home he's doing really well. Just out of curiosity do you remember why we ended up losing favor with him and he stopped being a customer for the last couple weeks of his trip? It was ridiculous

Pretty much what I got.

เมื่อดืนลูกสาวผู้นำจีนมาเที่ยวที่ร้านไม่ซะใจเค้าเลยเปิดเหล้าแจกทั่วร้านซะเลย

When the Chinese leader's daughter came to the shop, she was not satisfied and so she opened and distributed alcohol to the entire shop. - google translate

Was that the same Aussie guy had the massive accident and got millions of Aussie dollars in insurance payout.

Bought Gig among others gold, cars, iPads jewellery and a condo. Bought me a San Miguel Lite too to be fair.

I bet you didn’t need a calculator to figure out those costs did you?
All came from experience. 🤣
I noticed you didn’t put the calculations in for Ladyboys. 😉

That’s great to hear Larry, my first trip in December 2008 I am sure I was present for his generosity…..unless you had many customers buy 100+ drinks at a time, kind of narrows the “suspects” down fast huh ?

Australia , at least the major cities, is simply crazy expensive for housing . Once in a while I’ll browse Sydney listings from a YT link or whatever …..JFC ! $10M doesn’t even guarantee you a real castle anymore, it looks worse than the Bay Area now ! I don’t know how young folks, even educated with a good job, can cope in these markets, bloody madness

He also threw 5,000 in Aussie $50 notes from his room. Everybody thought he would end up broke but he had already had an annuity for his kids and his home life was pretty stable this was something that he just wanted to do and I think probably all of us at one time or another would like to have the cash to have a blowout like that I would anyway

It’s like when you see the Euro Millions lottery prize of over £150 million. I would give almost all of it away to good causes like MacMillan Cancer Support and the Princess Alice hospice in Esher where my sister Jan spent her last few months.

You only need so much money to live a nice life, the rest is just spending money for the sake of it.

It’s why I detest billionaires like Musk and Bezos, spunking billions on crap like rockets, trying to out do each other, when they could use their obscene wealth to help the poor people in the world.

And motorbikes - proper large motorbikes. My memory is Donald Ducked these days but I seem to recall he bought one then swapped it for another a week later. He had short legs and had a real problem getting on/off them.

His bank put a routine security stop on his account. So he flew back to Oz, moved his funds to another bank, then flew straight back to Thailand the same day.

Sadly, he was his own worst enemy and needed protecting from himself.
