So I absolutely love Thailand, and travelling in general but I am at the point where my friend group either don’t like the place, or don’t want to go back.

A bit of context, I’m 25yo, and from the UK.
Overall, life is good and I can’t complain. However I’m starting to think about just going to Thailand solo.
Of course it will be daunting, but most nights I was out solo in Bangkok and Pattaya. I loved it.

I have a lot of people saying just go solo and I’ll naturally bump into people, but I think with people can be more enjoyable.

What’s everyone’s opinion on going solo?
I plan on going back May/June, so really weighing up my options.
I know there are people in the same boat as me, but finding them is a struggle 😂

Sign up with a language school, you will meet people around your age, committed to staying here.

Many will be from China or Myanmar but at least around your age.

In Bangkok get on meetup, there are social events aimed at your age group and whatever interests you have there is likely to be meetup catered to it.

Finally play sports, sign up with a team or club.

Stay out of the bars😃

If you are going on holiday , just do it ... girls will talk to you in the bars and it's easy to chat to other guys ( if you really want to ...😜 )  by the pool at your hotel or in bars

If you join up at our sister site Pattaya addicts , they have monthly Line groups for guys traveling alone , some bars like Hollywood on Soi 6 have weekly bar crawls

Very easy

Have travelled solo now for many many years.

As long as you are not a dick head, you will naturally meet other like minded guys.

To be fair, my focus in Asia has never been guys, but have formed many friendships along the way.

Met a load of great people through Secrets forum, your good self included.

In the end I spent more time with guys than girls as I just got bored with the P4P scene.

I've found it's much easier to meet people solo as opposed to being with a group, which has maybe been your experience.

Yeah my experiences in Thailand have been with a friend or two. I did find myself out alone most of the time, so am now considering both solo as my mates aren’t interested to be blunt.

I started serious travelling around the same age as the young lad who started the thread. In all the years only once did I travel with a friend. It was a disaster.

Along the way I have made some really good friends.

Meet up with them as you go.

Solo travelling reduces stress, enables more flexibility in decision making.

Challenge yourself. Solo travelling will help you develop confidence. You will make friends in time. You will learn more about yourself and what you are capable of. Keep your head in the game, always treat others with respect, and minimize the amount of time you spend around large crowds/venues. Make safety a priority. Plan your traveles but expect the unexpected. When shit goes sideways then bend a little.

Good luck and don't ever be afraid to ask for help when you need it.

Unless you like hanging around with ex SAS and Delta Force types.

They are full of them.😂

OK so that wasn’t you at Secrets that I bought a beer, bragging about his 226 sniper kills with a record 4.2 km away, headshot no less ?
