Still no non-stops, but subject to approvals etc United Airlines seems to be intending to launch these from 26th October 2025 routing throught HKG.  Also HCMC and a second daily to Manilla.

Nice piece of information, I would certainly pay a bit "extra" if I could get a non stop from SFO to BKK.....not sure if that will EVER happen...going back home in October.....what a hassle getting from here to Las Vegas though!

The LAX to Bangkok non stop was really nice

I dunno - my usual EVA flight from Vancouver has a two hour stop in Taipei and I rather like it - it's easy to get around and find your next gate and it's nice to stretch one's legs while doing so; plus the final flight is only 3:45 and arrives in late morning so you can get to your hotel, get settled in and still go out later.

If you are planning for a visit to LV this October while back in the States, send me a pm a week or so ahead of time. I just booked last weekend for summer in Kenya but will be back last week of September.

Maybe grab a beer on Fremont Street then. October is a great time to visit, the weather should be pretty nice.

Has anyone flown with Air Premia? It only flies from a few cities in America but they do have a connection to BKK. What I found very interesting is that these are hybrid international flights, they only have two classes, economy and prem economy.

But the leg room is amazing! An incredible 35" seat pitch in the 3-3-3 economy seating and a whopping 42" in their 2-3-2 prem econ seating.

As they depart from both SF and LAX, I might be giving them a serious look for my next booking this winter, especially if their fares are competitive with Eva, China Air, Cathay, etc.

I don’t know if it’s still the same, but when I left from Calgary or Edmonton, then Vancouver, it was the same thing…Connect in Narita then arrive BKK around midnight. It’s funny now, but I was kind of scared the first time in 2008.

My First time outside of North America, didn’t really do my homework , midnight, pre-smartphone/data era, no hotel booked, ZERO THAI being paired with a cabbie with zero English , being yelled at for tolls, a hooker jumping into the car on Sukhumvit….That exact situation would never happen to me today, but for about 45 minutes was kinda nervous!

7 months later , same arrival time, went straight to Pattaya , checked in Soi 5 & had time to barfine from Secrets before closing ….happy times
