I've previously used Xe to send money from the UK to my BKK bank account & always got a rate around .35 less than on their website, which is the mid rate,so not bad.

This time(yesterday - Wed 23rd) their website said 44.53 but when I went to send some money the rate I was going to get was 43.75.

So I opened an account with Wise & got 44.26 with the money showing in my account today.

So it's goodbye to Xe & wise to use Wise.

Used wise for years and happy with the service and will continue to use.

if and when in the future  I need to send larger sums of sterling I will look at the wider market as rates maybe better

Had an excellent service from wise for a few years now too.

Always amazed at how fast the money lands from me transferring into my account.

Most times it's under 10 seconds.

Used a few companies previously to send money but, since using Wise, I have been happy with their service. Always get an excellent rate and, for me, the transfer has been without incident.

Yesterday, I ordered the Wise card, so I can load money as a back up should I need to withdraw local currency on my trip to the Philippines and Thailand in July/August.

I noticed that you can preload a local currency, but I will probably only load the card in £s and get the local mid market rate. That way, if I don't use the card, I may transfer the £s back to my Nationwide bank account.

I just see the card as another option for financial support when overseas.

Wise works well for me. In fact, when you have things in proper order hard to go wrong. There are going to be times though no matter what when things may take longer than usual. Things that you cannot control like govt. policies and holidays (shit like that).

My guess would be XE is just as good. Just comes down to which app you know best and feel comfortable with.

"Options" is the key word. The more you have the better off you will be.

lol.... Speaking of options..... I'm going to start buying some small gold amounts, and cash. They will be hidden in my GF's panties. Stronger than Fort Knox (in case you were to come looking).

Yesterday they were definitely not as good.

Since discovering Wise many years ago i've never used any other service. I used to always transfer by Swift but with Wise's better and quicker transfers its a no brainer imo.

Used Wise for years now. In a comparison with my OZ bank, Wise has a much higher transfer fee, but the much better exchange rate more than offsets that.

Wise has been solid for me for years. I use it monthly and almost every time the money is sent in seconds. There are times not frequently but there are times that it takes 24 hours and once it took 48 hours but I was told this up front so there were no secrets. I'm happy with them
