Just wondering if anybody has used their hotel booking engine etc to book a taxi from the airport.

Reason I ask, is that I have used Booking.Com to pay for airport transfers in Greece and Czech Republic and they were quite good rates.

I checked them for how much a taxi from Swampy to my hotel in Pattaya would cost, and thought the prices were very competitive as per below:

A mate of mine says he has used trip.com. The fact they meet you off the flight makes me think it is a good option rather than going out to the taxi tank.

I use booking.com always. Never even tried another site.

I've booked taxis via them for Prague twice, Budapest, Barcelona and Berlin. Never a problem although there was a 30 minutes wait at Budapest.

Competitive rates as well.

I always use them when flying into Phuket, there is usually a 10 to 15 minute wait for the driver to rock up, but it's been a good service.

In Phuket there is a rep with your name, then they call in the driver.

Never tried it to Pattaya because Nams taxis have been so good with only lady drivers when ariving at Swampy.

I have been using Booking.com for years Dave,I have Genius Level2 which makes their quotes very competitive. The company supplying the taxis in Thailand operates under the name of SmartRyde. I used them three times on our recent trip including a minivan to take us and Wie`s family from Don Muang to Pattaya. There is almost always a minimum 10 minute waiting time after you report to the reps while they make a phone call to the driver and tell him you have arrived.

I used them in Samui , was cheaper than the airport taxi or hotel transfers , plus they were waiting when you arrived , the queue for Airport taxis was horrendous

Swampy to Patts , I would go with Boydeste's recommendation, good to have a driver waiting for you , plus with these lady taxi companies, they are normally careful drivers

I use Tans taxi which is a similar set up to Nams , although the price to Patts with Tan is 1300 Baht

We tried to use them a year or so ago from Swampy to Bangkok, there was nobody holding a placard with my name & after waiting a while we got a cab from the airport.

Where do you report to the reps at Swampy mate,is there a SmartRyde office there?

Is there any indication on whether tolls are included?

I have used Nam's for many years now. For the last year or so, a representative has been waiting for me, rather than the driver.

My thoughts are that tolls would be included, but I probably will now try to use Nam's as I have a 10 year old girl with me, it just might make everybody feel more comfortable.

As per @boydeste and a few suggestions, I have booked Namsladydrivers.

Sent the request and 5 minutes later, Pimmy has sent me a confirmation. Just waiting for the picture and name of the driver. Seems pretty professional.

I have booked the SUV at 1400 including tolls.

Same with Tan , the representative calls the driver and takes me to her

No there is no office and they dont actually hold a placard out for you, their name SmartRyde is on the barrier opposite the exit doors 3or4.They have a couple of poles with the names of the parties they are waiting for arranged vertically, you just let the rep know when you find your name and she will call your driver, when your driver arrives they will let you know and give you his registration number and tell you were he will be.

I'm a long time customer of Nam's car service. Never had a bad driver, although last trip the driver disappointed me by stopping for gas on the way back to Pattaya. Sent an email to Nam, so hopefully that will be a one off experience.

As for the rep meeting me at door 3, I prefer it that way. When the driver used to meet me it meant a long trek to the car in the parking garage. Easier and quicker to wait the 5 minutes for the driver to pull up and then walk out the door and hop in the car.
