Finally arrived at 8.40pm. Because I flew with Jetstar the gate was about a kilometre from immigration. I did not get an evisa because it asked for PDF files and decided to get a VOA. Big mistake. Evisa holders walked straight through to the electronic gates. The rest of us had to first queue to pay for the visa. Then go to another queue to get the visa. It took about 45 minutes due to too few staff and stupid passengers. After that you have to go through customs. You can do this form online before travelling or on terminals at the airport.  I did mine before leaving home and photographed the QR code. Perfectly acceptable. I also did the health declaration online but nobody asked . Finally through. Withdrew money at an atm. Cash rate for AUS dollar at the airport 9,400RPH, in Kuta 10.125. When I come back in October for my brothers 70th birthday I will work out how to turn my passport info and onward flight details into PDF files.

Okay I'm staying in Kuta for the first 5 days in Poppies one which is a lane in the heart of Kuta. If you walk to the beach end and go left this is what you get.

So yesterday afternoon I decided to do a Bali must and had a cold Bintang watching the sunset at Kuta Beach. As you can see it is very popular but sometimes nature doesn't play along.

Garbage collection Kuta style. The front loader drives along the beach and up to the path for people to put the rubbish in. Then it is transferred to the whatever you call it and so on. Mm
