Yesitisdakid Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 There was talk a while back about cardless withdrawals. I like them I feel much safer and to me it's only a few seconds longer to actually initiate it. And if I know how much I'm going to withdraw I can set it up before I even leave my room so that it only takes a second when I get to the ATM. But others have said they don't like dicking with it and prefer their card well these are the main reasons I like it. 1
forcebwithu Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 I heard mentioned that cardless withdrawals incur a transaction fee whereas an ATM card doesn't. Is that you're experience? I wasn't sure if ATM card skimmers were still a problem, but according to Mr. Google they are. 1
Yesitisdakid Posted May 30, 2025 Author Posted May 30, 2025 (edited) No fee at all if you use your bank's ATM as a matter of fact I think if you use your phone you have to use your bank's ATM whereas with a card you can use any ATM available for whatever it cost you in fees which is very little so that's one of the pluses for the card Edited May 30, 2025 by Yesitisdakid 3
Lemondropkid Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 (edited) I'm a convert to cardless withdrawal on the phone. More convenient than carrying a bank card around and safter in my view. Edited May 30, 2025 by Lemondropkid
redwood13 Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 On recently downloading iOS 18.5 there's a red alert on SETTINGS which leads to a message "set up Apple Pay". New feature. If I don't set it up will the nag be there forever - LOL A few weeks ago, my debit card wouldn't work at a gas station I've used for years. Worked ok at another station. Got home and found a message on my desktop from my bank informing me that someone had tried to use my card for $120 withdrawal but failing because they used an incorrect pin. Card was cancelled and I got a new one a few days later. 3 1 2
Krapow Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 I probably would if i lived in, or stayed long periods in Thailand. But as i don't, i just prefer the ATM Card, and don't use a banking app, as i like as little hassle as possible, don't want to be going into banks on holiday to sort out any issues related to the app i've read about, upgrades, numbers etc. Different if you live in Thailand, probably wouldn't have most issues, or time to sort them. Here in the UK, i use my banking App for most things. 1
