Popular Post KWA Posted July 16, 2025 Popular Post Posted July 16, 2025 (edited) Shamelessly stolen from a discussion on another forum, but here's an article which gives some information on what it claims is every condo building in Pattaya, and there's almost 300 of them, dating back to 1984. Also future plans including 17 more buildings going out to 2029. https://pattaya-property.net/blog_post/how-pattaya-became-a-condo-city-a-look-at-40-years-of-growth-and-whats-still-to-come I was just asked last week how old mine was and my guess wasn't that far away. maipenrai Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Great link, thanks for posting - brings back memories of being sucked into one of those "tourist surveys" that were common back in 2003 when I first visited for an extended time; of course the next day i got dragged out to a condo promotion in Jomtien and I've always wondered if it was View Talay 2A where I was taken. The time frame seems right as apparently 2B, the back block, was built first and I remember the units where I was taken were being sold as unfinished shells; ironically, I've stayed in 2A many times since in rental condos - if I'd known at that time that I would be going back every year since I would have been better off buying, I guess... 3 2
fforest Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 Fantastic list of Pattaya condos....Thanks for posting this.... Very helpful for anyone looking for a older BIGGER condo to rent or buy..... Most new condos are shoe boxes....Unless you want to pay out the azz for a bigger unit.... 3
Toy Boy Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 I lived for 5 years in Jomtien Complex Condo (JCC) on the 27th floor and the number of units mentioned is double the actual number, they probably did that as it's two towers but the total is around 550 Units. Good size rooms (67 sqm standard) and a great location, plus the maintenance fee was only around 1,000 Baht/month. If you've won the lottery, there's a 260 sqm duplex condo at the top corners of each tower, so four in total. The last I heard, these sell for around 25 million Baht a piece. When I got bored with condos I looked for a house, and both Jomtien Condotel and Grand Condo have villages attached. The advantage here is that you have access to the condo facilities like the pool and gym, but you enjoy the space and privacy of a house. As you'd expect given the location, though, the prices were at least double what you'd pay if you looked a kilometre further away from the beach. Over the years, I've visited many of the older condos - Baan Suan Lalana, Majestic, Nirun, Jomtien Plaza, Jomtien Beach Condo (JBC), Hagone, Yensabai, Centre, Panchalae and Metro, some were still nice and well-maintained and some were showing their age. I bought a house 15-odd years ago and then lost interest in condos, though I still have friends living in places like JCC and JBC. 4
