Using Google flights, I scooped up a very inexpensive round trip from Manila. I've been to HCMC many times and in small doses, it's a breath of fresh air. Although Hong Kong is less expensive, I tend to enjoy the value for money I get from Vietnam. Smoky BBQ duck in the air is my favorite memory.

Girls, girls, girls

My last visit was an entire month. Although I purposely stayed way out in the suburbs, to see the real Vietnam, I happened to meet women who were willing to drive out to me. Far enough that we would spend the night together.

Like most Asian women, they have not been exposed to receiving much oral pleasures in their adult lives. I am good for something, apparently....

Any tips and trip reports greatly appreciated. To be continued.

District 1 NPK Street all the taxi drivers know and when you take a taxi look it for the white Vina Sun taxis they were always very honest in a few times even cheaper than using grab. On NPK Street many small shops with Vietnamese gentlemen sitting in front of them that will welcome you to have a look at what they have to offer. When we were there we paid 12 to 15 US for a short time on the premises. I used a motorbike pimp on one occasion who stopped me late in the evening on Bui vin showed me 7 or 8 pictures of girls that he could bring me I was skeptical but he insisted if the girls didn't look exactly like the photos then I wouldn't have to accept them. The one girl I choose the photo was taken that very morning it was identical. I think I believe I paid 1.2 million dong which I believe at that time translated into about $45. I love Ho chi Minh I'm sure you'll have a great time so much to see and do there

The purpose of this week long trip is to determine whether Saigon and possibly the beach town, Danang, are viable options from the Philippines. 3 month visas are easily obtained. YouTube videos of Danang are very impressive. Inexpensive direct flights from Manila.

Another perk is whole BBQ duck, widely found as street food ($9USD). Never seen this in the Philippines.

Weeklong starts October 6.

A taxi tip for newbies. HCMC taxis the rates are based on their size, bigger costs more, often  quite a bit more. They have a sticker on the side giving the flag fall and per km rates.

Vina Sun have a great reputation. Used them a lot in many places with no problems.

I stayed at Vinhomes Grand park condos for 1 month. This is in Saigon district 9, which is 20km away from the center of Saigon district 1.

I really enjoyed the peaceful park and faux beach day and night. I have nothing but good things to say about Vinhomes, although there were a few girls that found it a little far.

There's are very modern and inexpensive electric buses running from Vinhomes to the center of Saigon, 18 hours a day.

I will stay 2 days at Vinhomes on this visit. Highly recommended if you have a girl.

Hello from Saigon. We departed Manila 4am and before long, we were landing. There's not enough immigration booths so we had to stand for 1 hour. There's a fast track service for $40. Grab taxi to the hotel and a few hours of walking. It's great to be back.

The Hop on Hop off bus is a great way to see things around town when the weather is really really hot you can get a seat in the lower section where there's air conditioning or tough it out in the top where you get to see a bit more I would think.

Thanks for posting your trip report. Good to read.

When I first started trips every 6 months or so to Thailand I used to post my trip reports almost on a daily basis. In those days both the report and its associated photo's were a lot more graphic. I realise that now that I was pandering to my own ego but judging by the comments I received only encouraged me to continue.

Those were the days! 🤣

Danang is a beautiful beach town but as I am not a beach person did not really care for the time we spent there. If you are into the beaches this is a must when going to Vietnam

Many massage shops are definitely full service. Pretty girls holding menus on the sidewalk. I heard boom boom a few times. With direct flights and easy visas from everywhere, it's no wonder why the streets are hopping. Agreed, the beach is beautiful, clean, and spacious. Much longer than the eyes can see.

Danang is a great visit. There's a huge language barrier but the Vietnamese are very patient with my pointing and gestures trying to get me what I came for. Tomorrow is a few days at Vinhomes Grand Park in the outskirts of Saigon.

Great to be back in the Philippines now.

The food, value for money, architecture, short distance from Philippines/Thailand, and the pleasant people (despite the intense language barrier), make Vietnam a big hit with many tourists, such as myself. Philliipines is at the lower end of the tourism draws, despite there being no language barrier and free visa on arrival.

The only downside to Vietnam, in my opinion, is there's no free visa on arrival and the queues for immigration at Saigon Airport can take 60+ minutes!

In weekly doses, Vietnam is fantastic for me.

Another week booked starting February 1.

Great report that brought back many memories. Visited 5 times, to many of the same places, DA Nang, Dalat, Hanoi and HCMC. Also enjoyed Nha Trang (twice) lovely beaches.

While I found my visits very enjoyable I did find that the Scam factor there was much higher than in other SEA spots. Thanks for the pics

Philliipines monthly visa extensions have recently doubled in price so international travel for a visa run is not much more. Here we go again....

Don't you get 1 year balikbayan on arrival?.

I always do, last time on return from Pattaya after a 5 day visit I asked the immigration officer and she put one in, I just told her I'm married to an OFW who's meeting me outside.

Although it's not specifically a Visa in itself.

SRRV isn't too difficult to obtain either as there's a few options there.

Nice pics Sakik...thanks for posting

Plan B is to be happy in both Manila and Saigon. Saigon has new luxury apartments in Vinhomes Grand Park costing less than my little place in Manila, which is quite nice by local standards. I have had luck with the ladies in both countries but the language barrier in Vietnam could be an issue. To their credit, the Vietnamese really seem to try hard to make everything right. Trips booked for December and February.
