Just had an interesting chat with them.

They don't offer advice for a visa for marriage. Only retirement visa.

55k if they dump 800k baht into a Thai bank, namely krungsRi bank.

45k baht if you are prepared to tie up 800k baht of your own money.

Not to shabby really but the excuse I got for not offering a marriage visa was hilarious. I'll pop I screenshot on here. Make your own minds up.

Secondly, one stop visa on soi 6. The website is a bit embarrassing. According to the website you only need 80k baht to apply for a retirement visa 5555555. Buzzin in Pattaya swears by this guy.

That sounds like a quality establishment 😃 Watched some of his vlogs during COVID, is he still prefixing the odd statement with "I wouldn't lie to you"

Am going to PM you a suggestion. Don't have any experience on Pattaya so will leave that to the residents.

Are you sure you were talking to Maneerat?  Their name's spelt wrongly it's not what I see for them on WhatsApp.  Coud be another number but take care anyway.

I spelled it wrongly when I entered their phone number to my contacts.

Is that the fees or is that the amount of dosh you have to have in your account ?

Pump...

I would have to pay 45k baht for them to get me a non O visa which would include the opening of a Kungsri bank account and all the running around providing I had all the correct documents. I would have to deposit 800k baht into the bank account.

For 55k baht it's exactly the same but they would but they would put 800k baht in the bank for me and then remove it. That's my understanding of it anyway.

Thanks for your explanation, i have to say that looks expensive imo, i got a quote from MyThaivisa about a year ago and they wanted i think 23500bht and that was for the whole process, even doing my 90 report and posting to me and i did'nt have to attend anywhere, just send them a photo.

I could'nt quite believe they could do what they were doing but i know them well as they did my new UK passport renewal.

I'm getting to the stage now at nearly 75 that i just can't be bothered to f*** around with Immigration offices/staff anymore and the fees don't bother me but i'm looking for a complete service (i don't want to have to visit offices) as i live in Korat.

I think it's well known now that because of banking problems for both farang and Thai people ( thousands of accounts frozen), visa agencies have increased their prices.

I don't want to travel from BKK to Pattaya to arrange a visa as it would incur more costs but what other choice do I have? @Lemondropkid has kindly Pmd me with an agent in BKK and I'll look into them.

I did think that might be the case.

I'm with Maneerat - the cost of renewing my ret visa this year will be 15,500 and done through the Krungthai bank (includes the 'financial assistance' package). 3 years ago, they initially charged me 28,000, which included the 3 month O/A visa plus the cost of opening an account with Bkk bank.

FarangThai Visa and TikTok sevices also seem to be popular.

What’s the story now with the 65,000฿ monthly income? Last I heard, the US Embassy had stopped providing income verification letters. I’ve always done the 800,000 through Maneerat, but I’ve got income verification letters from Social Security, our Veterans Administration and my pension fund and any one of them would cover the 65k if immigration will take it.

Same here but unfortunately the current situation is that you have to bring that amount into the country every month and get a letter from the bank.

I would love this to be proven wrong though ....

That's correct, you need to move at least 65k/month into Thailand to go the monthly income route. The exception would be if your home country is one of the few remaining whose embassy will issue an income affidavit.

Now here's the part I don't get. You can go the monthly income route and live off the money you bring into Thailand, but if you go the 800k on deposit route you can't use it for five months of the year, and the other seven you only can touch 400k of that money.

A nice money earner they've created for the banks that hold your money and pay FA interest.

Exactly, the 800K on deposit is a deffo no no for me, its just a load of ole Thai bollocks designed to fleece farangs who could'nt GAF about THEIR money and i will never fall into that category.

So, since the US Embassy doesn’t issue income affidavits, what does Thai immigration accept as proof? I have income verification letters from my three income sources, plus Bangkok Bank statements. I would think that is enough; but, TiT.

My visa isn’t due for renewal until June, but I think I may drop in at the immigration office next week and see if I can get some information.

Proof would be a Thai bank statement showing 12 monthly transfers of 65k or more from out of country into your Thai account. The transfers need to be coded properly so they show up as foreign sourced money.

Is that what he's doing? I couldn't be bothered to listen to a 12+ minute monologue for him to get the point of his vid. You have far more patience than I.

I'd hazard a guess he's paying transfer fees and exchange rate differences that would probably be more than just paying an agent to grease the extension to stay wheel.

Well, that's the whole point of using an agent in the first place - either that or not being comfortable with having that amount of cash just resting in Thailand. But as he also says - it's 100% legal.

What he's doing if i've got it correct is transferring 65K monthly by way of Wise into his BBL for the RE income method but as he only needs 40k-50k to live on he's transferring back to the UK 15K-25K baht every month. Now thats costing him quite a high amount due to the charges he's confronted with and he's come up with Western Union as their charges work out less.

His YT vid title is recycling, there's the clue......

NB - Well i've just looked again at his YT vid title and its very confusing the way he's phrased it but what i understand is exactly what i've said he does transfer 65K but transfers back to the UK what he does'nt need to live on.

HTF he lives on that is beyond me but we are all different, i transfer £2500/108K bht every month and most months we spend it.

Interestingly enough, the 800k deposit came into existence in 1998, during the Asian economic crisis when they obviously decided that 'your money strong now' so you can cough up more of it for the dubious pleasure of living here. 27 years is a long time, so I can't help wondering if it's overdue to be increased.

That's exactly what he is describing.

It's a method of legally acquiring a retirement visa if you don't have enough monthly income to support the 65k each month.

Obviously you need enough savings to set it up in the first place and to pay the costs.

Just an alternative for people on low income that don't feel comfortable using an agent to grease the wheels.
