A Stopover between London and Bangkok

The wife is heading to Thailand on 23rd July for the summer and o wasn’t planning join her but have reconsidered (lucky her 😂) so I thought myself and our son would head over for a few well but fancy andrew days in between so just after any suggestions ?

Fire say if anyone has any decent places worth 3 nights to visit

Qatar interests me as my son wouldn’t mind looking around the cultural / historic side of things plus a little mooch into the desert

I would love to do a stopover in Beijing to compare it to '92 when I first arrived there on a 2 year contract but I have been told that it would only disappoint me and it would be better to keep my memories locked in place ..

 

On a more practical (and adventurous!)note how about flying Air Astana with a long stopover in Almaty?

Not trying to be a downer.... but, the way things are beginning to cook in Europe and the Middle East be prepared for possible delays.
