Popular Post coxyhog Posted December 12, 2025 Popular Post Posted December 12, 2025 30 Years after getting my eyes lasered I'm back to being old foureyes. I got fed up with driving & the satnav etc being out of focus so got some reactolite varifocals plus a pair of varifocal sunglasses, which for an extra £40 was too good to refuse. They have also sharpened up my long vision & I'll test that out at snooker on Monday. 1 1 10
Popular Post Stillearly Posted December 12, 2025 Popular Post Posted December 12, 2025 Had my eyes lasered 20 years ago , I was -5.5 in both eyes ...but now ( last couple of years ) I need reading glasses ( about +1.5 ) and although I technically don't need glasses for driving, I do wear some distance specs particularly at night 2 7

Thats about the same time I started wearing them initially got a pair from boots during covid, but now I tend to buy cheapo s 2.50 or 2 from thai markets,or 7,11s,if I'm driving its a 1 specially at night. 3 2
forcebwithu Posted December 13, 2025 Posted December 13, 2025 (edited) I had Lasik 25 years ago and my distance vision is still good enough I can get by without glasses. I do need reading glasses and I knew going in for the Lasik procedure that the drawback is that need for reading glasses would be after the procedure was done. I was fine by that as living in the cold climate of the north, I was happy to finally be rid of the distance glasses that would always fog up when I walked into a strip club. I buy them from Poundland, forever breaking them by dropping them or sitting on them.😀 4

To you guys that had laser surgery years ago. Can you have it again now your eyes are deteriorating?

coxyhog Posted December 13, 2025 Author Posted December 13, 2025 I was very short sighted from the age of about 10 & my glasses were all very heavy. These are as light as a feather and the frame which I picked out is a perfect fit with no adjustments needed. I didn't buy them to wear all the time, just for driving but I am wearing them all the time.Better definition when watching tv is a bonus....except when I'm watching Watford.... For the last 20ish years I've always had a pair of reading specs around my neck both at home & at work. 3
richy65 Posted December 13, 2025 Posted December 13, 2025 First time I needed glasses I’d turned 40 years old. Started getting bad headaches so got checked out and wear glasses for driving now Can see ok for reading etc and anything close up 2

At my age I would look into lens replacement rather the Lasik I've noticed more floaters as I age. They're not bad enough yet for me to do anything about it, but when they pass the threshold of mere annoyance I'll look into having YAG laser vitreolysis to vaporize them. 1
