Something I've noticed with quite a few YT vids is when I play a vid on YT's site, the sound level is so low I have to bump up my external speaker volume level to be able to make out what is being said. If however I post the same YT vid in a post, the sound level is at an acceptable level.

Here's one example of such a vid. Let me know if you notice a different volume level playing the embedded video compared to when you click on the lower right corner and "Watch on YouTube".

Bonus beers if you can provide an explanation for the difference in volume levels.

Sound the same to me.  Also identical if I manually copy the URL to a new tab and play it there.

Tried it in Chrome against my usual Firefox and still the same.

Thanks. It's quite possible it's my sound system setup. I have an el cheapo USB to 5.1 channel converter that feeds into my external speaker system.

I'm open to other suggestions on how to output 5.1 surround sound from laptop.
