Has anyone tried Premium Economy on Finnair , from looking at YouTube the product itself looks very good , only negatives seem to be complaints about the food ...  but the prices look much cheaper than other airlines PE

also is a 45 minute transfer between landing BKK-HEL and HEL-LHR practical ... they are offering it on several of the flights I've been looking at , plus it's on the return leg , so if the luggage didn't make it , it wouldn't be the end of the world 🤷‍♂️

I did Premium Economy 2 years ago, it was fine. Very comfortable seats and the service was ok.

Not sure about the connection, though I must have done almost the same as I was Finnair both LHR HEL BKK and BKK HEL LHR. Outward you don't need to go through security, just stay in departures but from Bangkok you must go through security before going to your London flight. Reason being is that the level of security ex LHR is excellent but they don't trust the security out of Bangkok. In fact on the outward my Heathrow flight was also the flight that did the Bangkok leg so I just stayed at the same gate.

The product may have changed in 2 years, so can't really comment about the food, but I wasn't disappointed from memory.

I've done 1 hour transfer connections in Helsinki a few times now, never had a problem.

Flight was delayed going a couple of weeks ago, 45mins delay as some knob left a power banks in his checked luggage which had to be taken off.

Anyways, once on, the delay only showed 12 mins, so they obviously ensure more time than they need for such incidents.

And as soon as I got on, my screen (normal economy class, 3 hour flight) told me that my connecting flight would be held. Not that it needed to be it in the end, plenty time before even boarding.

I like Finnair, and Helsinki is a nice, easily navigated airport.

I'll be flying them again in 2 weeks, Heathrow to Kittila via Helsinki, with a 1 hour transit time.

I notice Finnair have a sale until 22 Jan to Bangkok and other cities from London. Economy Lite (8 kilos) hand baggage is £526 for Feb to March dates and around £595 for Economy with 23 kgs.

Not bad prices if you can get them.
