Decent read, quite in-depth, plenty of pics etc.

His conclusion -

Conclusion (John’s Take)

I have visited all these lounges at Suvarnabhumi Airport numerous times.

My personal preference if I am in business is to go to the Qatar Airways lounge if it is open. For Oneworld Sapphire and Emerald members in economy or premium economy, I would choose the Cathay Pacific lounge.

The Oman Air lounge has been a Priority Pass favorite for its 24-hour access, but nowadays only the Miracle and Coral lounges can accommodate pass-eligible passengers.

What is your take on these five lounges in Bangkok? Please leave your comments below.

Unsurprisingly I have no intention of visiting any of them if all they offer for red wine is Mont Clair or any "fruit wine" for that matter.

I do have a favourite lounge but I don't know its name nor where it is situated .. It might even have been a dream.

It would have been when it was newly opened about 5 or 6 years ago. It had a female Manager that sat with me between ferrying refills of cold Jacobs Creek Chardonnay from the fridge. She had recently retired as Head of THAI Training for cabin crew and was offered the job.

It was either a damned good lounge or a damned good dream !!!

I was in the THAI lounge back in April, possibly the Royal Orchid, basically the one you come to after going through Biz check in.

Plenty on offer, loads of booze etc, but the food was so-so. it wasn't busy and had a lot of space. plates and cups etc were quickly cleared up, and I swiped a few drinks, sarnies and rolls for the flight, which was pointless as they over feed you in BC on THAI. It's also a bit of a hike to the new terminal from the lounge.

I was planning to go THAI again this year, Econ out and BC back, as they give you the option on booking, but the price was a bit steep and I couldn't justify it, so I'm opting for EVA Econ out and PE back this time and saving £760 in the process. Reason I tend to fly Econ out is because I finish nights the morning of my flight, travel to LHR after a couple of hours sleep then sleep pretty much all the way on the plane.

I have just gone through my old emails and I think the lounge I visited and liked was this one In August 2017 !!!

Jacobs Creek Chardonnay, Food cooked to order and a lovely lady in her 50s Managing an excellent lounge ... Purchased through BFS ..

It probably had Champagne too but I steer clear of any fart juice before and during flights !!

The only two I've been in at Swampy are Thai(once) & Qatar three times plus Cathay & Thai back in the 1980's.

I thought the grub in the Thai lounge was naff but it was breakfast time & I don't do Thai for brekkie so I had a glass of bubbly which cured my hangover rather well.

I found Qatar very good,at LHR & Doha as well.At LHR with Thai I think I went in the Singapore lounge which was very nice.

Probably going to fly Thai next time, the missus reckons they're upping the baggage allowance in cattle to 46kg & that's her biggest priority. At least then we'll be on the same flight if not in the same cabin.

I think she's got her wires crossed,it's one piece at 23kg in the cheapest economy tickets.

EVA is two pieces at 23kg each.

Yep, I looked at THAI recently, tight fuckers only allow 1 x 23kg in econ on the cheaper econ ticket options. EVA is, as you say, better, and they're more relaxed on hand carry as well. Price point around the same amount at time of writing for May 2026 on both carriers.

It's a weight up (pardon the pun) for me, as EVA is now 3-4-3 in Econ with one less toilet,  whereas many THAI 777 aircraft are still 3-3-3 (as are their 787's). THAI seating is bloody hard as well, my arse was numb after 2 hours.

Of all the carriers, we've found Qatar to be an utter bunch of luggage nazis when it comes to weight. They also round the weight up, so 20.6 becomes 21 in their view.

Apologies for the thread drift Mods. 🙂

My only trip with Qatar in cattle the first leg was a 777 with 3-4-3 in an aisle seat & every time someone walked past I got bumped.

They've taken away the fridges so you can't swipe cans of Singha or Chang any more still sarnies to swipe. Just a few small bars but they make lethal cocktails but as you say minute you board the plane overfed and over boozed up until 20 minutes before landing ..... love it !!!!
