Stillearly Posted May 29 Posted May 29 New immigration app launching .... With THIM, travellers complete their full profile only once. On future visits, they need to update just a few details, such as the flight number and return date. The bureau said the process can reduce arrival card completion time to about three minutes. The app is available now for pilot downloads and uses an electronic know your customer (KYC) process to verify user information against passport details. Travellers do not need to show a QR code at immigration counters, according to the bureau. Their data syncs directly with the bureau's system, allowing officers to confirm the completed digital form when they scan a physical passport. The app supports English, Russian, Japanese and Chinese, with plans to expand to 15 languages. In the future, the bureau wants THIM to become a comprehensive digital platform for all foreigners living in Thailand, featuring appointment booking, electronic extension services, online pre-submission of documents, status change applications and issuance of transaction-related certification documents. For expats, THIM can support mandatory 90-day reporting and official electronic document requests, reducing visits to provincial immigration offices. Long-term visa holders, including those under Board of Investment or diplomatic status, may be able to access automated airport channels through facial recognition technology that compares real-time mobile photos with identity data stored in passport chips. biggles Posted May 29 Posted May 29 The Philippine on-line system works like this as well. Create it in full the first time then just edit your arrival/departure details on any future trips. I have used mine for several years now. Foreigners only register their arrival, locals do it for both ways. 4

thegrogmonster Posted May 29 Posted May 29 I have just put this app my phone. Is there anywhere to save your details or does this only happen when you enter details for your first trip?

I just entered my first trip ( just to see if it worked ... ) for June , it said it will contact me when I need to fill in the health declaration 72 hours before I leave ... although I read it doesn't actually start until October .. 🤷♂️ 1

Bazle Posted May 29 Posted May 29 I have read somewhere a comment that I wholeheartedly agree with: in next to no time, the app will be used for tracking us. 1

biggles Posted May 31 Posted May 31 KWA, you can edit any trip you create at a later date. It is possible to enter all the required data for your first 'trip' creating a record containing all your personal data. Logging into the app later on will retrieve this trip info for editing. 2

Agreed, but it saves it locally and once it's submitted it's gone. Further trips will start from scratch again. I expect (hope) this will change as the app is developed further. Although you can select a date well into the future for travel you can't submit it until the usual 3 day period as the health declaration must be up to date. 1

I recently placed an order on my laptop for an item from Amazon. No more than an hour or so later, I logged onto UTube using my "all too smart by half TV". The first advert UTube displayed was for the very same product I had just ordered from Amazon. 3 3

I turned Google Maps Timeline on so I can figure out the next day which bars I visited the previous night. 8

Lemondropkid Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Another gobshite. Haven't ever watched one of vids but have overheard him in the flesh. The day we can't figure out what's going on here without input from from one of these half wits, is the day to head home😜 2

Not wishing to fall for her cunning plan, I of course purchased additional supplies at the Airport and returned her box unopened. Nevertheless, as I recall, I was deemed to be "unclean" for about the next 3 weeks. 4
