Popular Post Yesitisdakid Posted June 1 Popular Post Posted June 1 (edited) I took this a day ago and thought it would be interesting to post about if anybody is thinking about making this trip. I didn't take this particular train because of the cost although that's very attractive. It's a third class train no air conditioning but they do have fans and all the windows and all the cars are open so you get a great deal of breeze. Not at all uncomfortable 4 hours it left and arrived on time. And a big benefit to me was that it leaves from the old station Hua Lamphong. So easy to get to on the MRT and while you can get to the new station on the MRT as well I just don't like the new station too complex for my liking. Anyway this train leaves daily at 9:20 a.m. a tip for those that are going to take this trip while if you look at YouTube videos most of them will tell you you can't get your ticket for this particular train until 1 hour before departure. Such is not the case the lady at the ticket window told me you can purchase a ticket starting at 7:30 a.m. of the day you're leaving no advance sales for other days. She also advised me while many will say you cannot board the train until 30 minutes prior to departure that's not the case either. She recommended to me that the minute I get my ticket I go through the archway platform number 7 and for the train immediately that way you can find a seat of your choice. I recommend this because the train actually did fill up and people were standing. I also found the reason for that was they call this the government train because Thai people do not have to purchase a ticket they can ride this train free. But it's also open for paying passengers for a mere 44 baht a bargain. Anybody that wanted adventure I would recommend this. Admin feel free to put this into the travel section if there is one I'm doing it on my mobile and I can't find it anywhere. Edited June 1 by Yesitisdakid 2 5 4
