Hi all, not been on this forum in fucking years, hope you are all well.

Might be passing through patters for a night or two next week (not been in at least 10 years). Where are the decent areas to stay nowadays? Nothing crazy noisy or anything. Heard the place is full of smelly Indians these days, where do I stay to avoid those. Completely out of the loop with the place, any advice appreciated.  Need somewhere with parking. Cheers

Soi Buakhao is the place to be these days. Try LK Metropole or Areca Lodge in that price bracket.

Ta, looks like Areca has parking so I’ll check that out.

Amethyst Hotel has parking, swimming pool on the roof, Soi 15 just off soi Buakhow

Further down and around Soi 15 where it meets the other end of Soi Casino are a couple of places that are half the price of the afore mentioned hotels .... and the difference in quality is obvious of course!

We have stayed at the Kokotel twice but plan on using The Whisper across the road on my next drive down. Both have covered parking. We like the area because it is OK to walk to Bodega Bar, Soi Post Office and PBG in one direction and Soi Buakhao in t'other direction. It is near The Avenue/Cinema/Food Court/Robbing Hood and night "market" so adults and children are kept occupied! 

Apparently The Avenue complex has something called Jim but I'm a little unsure what it is used for ....

I like the Whisper when I haven't a Condo. Big rooms, massive bathroom,  pool on roof, and, as above, easy walking distance to buckhou, Avenue mall, WS, etc, etc

Yep, the only reason I chose that area was that I wanted something with a car park within walking distance to the Post Office for my PO Box. Very pleased that I did too, it worked out very well!

There is also that Thai/Farang food place 50m down the road !!

Hi mate, nice to see you posting.

If you are OK with crossing 3rd RD, then LK President is worth looking at.

Directly opposite soi Pot hole and a short walk to Buckhao, LK and Tree Town.

Has parking and real good rates for the standard of room.

Easy to get to also without driving into the madness of Buckhao and central Pattaya.

I have always stayed on Soi 13 over the years. Creature of habit I reckon.

Soi 13 is perfectly located IMO. Can head in either direction (B.R. or 2nd Rd.) and be on a baht bus instantly.

Many great restaurants in every direction. Soi's 13/1 and 13/2 have a lot of action if you so desire and it is easy to crawl back to the loom. TQ (my favorite bar) is right on the corner at B.R. The Avenue has a brill Villa Market for anything you may need (also a quick cut-through to Soi 15 and then up to Soi Bucky, etc.),

im booked in to ceasars palace hotel 2nd rd opp soi 7/8 plenty of parking

We're booked into the Holiday Inn Express per my "hotel bargains" thread from the 30th for a couple of weeks.  They're currently running a special.

I was up there attending to a friend who has cancer and getting my extension taken care of.... So, I wasn't up for partying.

Probably won't be back up there for another few months or even a year. If you are still there around that time we'll have a blow-out (I always pack big tip money for the D.J. when I go there. lol).

 

If you get down to HH anytime soon look me up (Woodstock is a brilliant bar). The bus ride can be a little bit of ball buster though (even when you are well prepared).

Your suggestion mate. Pretty much the same hotel at the LK Empress (stayed there before last time I was here) on beach road, but a bit cheaper. Good shout on avoiding Soi Bukhouw, the traffic is mad there now. Never imagined those shitty roads off boukouw near LK metro would take on such a lease of life 😂😂😂

Good choice.  Killer breakfast buffet.

We've stayed there a few times but this stay will be nearly 3 weeks, so we opted to slum it at the Holiday Inn Buakhao.  No wheels so traffic not an issue.

I’m actually at the LK president as per Boydestes suggestion, was just comparing it to the empress in my other post as it’s pretty much the same apart from location obviously.
