I have not noticed you making any previous contributions to this topic before.

This thread remains very popular and is updated every day. Discussion is welcome, but posting memes and copied posts from Twitter does little to promote actual discussion and even leads to dissent

What discussions, are you suggesting are being shut down? Everyone has a right to express  their opinions. But does. Ot automatically assume that others will always agree.

It is hardly surprising that some feel somewhat resentful toward antivaxxers.

Spreading disinformation, is a dangerous business and should be confined to those places that allow it to flourish

I just started reviewing the thread in the past few weeks. It takes some time to get through it and filter all of the ad hominem attacks.

I am only posting my observations. It's obvious why the thread is popular. That says something itself.

I have no dog in the hunt. Carry on, it is entertaining.

These threads are populated by scoundrels, misfits, score-settlers, and even a few trolls!  🦘

    For discussion sake...

Many people who refuse Covid vaccination are now the most seriously ill in hospitals. They are utilizing valuable health care resources disproportionately to other non-Covid needs.

Is it sustainable to politely tolerate them while other health care needs suffer? What's the solution?

As I said, I don't have a solution. I too know how these forums work and my experiences with them are similar to your statement, that forums, and most social media these days, are populated by misfits.

But for discussion sake, my post was just my observations, and specifically of this thread, of how the conversation had shifted to name calling and childish behavior.

The fact that someone disagrees with another's position on any idea, event, or just thought doesn't mean they need to demean them. Call that what you will, but politeness isn't really evident on this thread.

Perhaps if that changed then the discussion might get back on track but that's again just another thought.

Anti Vaxxers , spreading misinformation and the virus ....are doing harm to everyone.

I tend to agree and I don't have any answers as to how to change them.

I just don't believe that the vitriol, particularly on a forum like this one puts the other side in any particularly better light.

It does seem to be shutting down a lot of discussion here but that might be as much about virus fatigue as anything.

  5. I don't agree with most of my antivaxxer friends' positions on C19 but I have yet to come across a single one of them wish harm or death on vaxxers for their choice of C19 vaccination.

OTOH, I've lost track of how many times C19 vaccine proponents have written sociopathic shit and wished violent harm to antivaxxers, and that's just on this thread.

    Interesting.

Both Real Estate Agents & at least my Interior Decorator stated that in Thailand & specifically in Pattaya, builders provide inadequate amount of storage space for condos.  As condos in Pattaya become ‘smaller & smaller’ builders skimp on available ‘Built-In’ storage areas.

Now, I’ve boughten 4 different condos in Pattaya/Jomtien & viewed a couple hundred units.  Other than most units having a wardrobe closet & small kitchen with not enough or barely adequate kitchen cabinet space…typically no laundry cabinets or possible no mop room/cabinet, little to no misc storage cabinets, no coat closet… etc.

IMHO, most units I’ve seen for sale in Pattaya are just empty shells with only the wardrobe closets (not including kitchen cupboards or any possible bathroom cabinets.  …where exactly are you going to put your personal effects/items…I guess you could store them in cabinets in the kitchen/bathroom which is not functional, but doable.

In regards to clutter - A condo looks more cluttered when visible, that’s why interior decorators suggest one keep things tucked away, hidden, out-of-sight, cabinets, storage compartments.  I’ll get much detail in upcoming add-on to this threads.

And in regards to hoarding, I’m from the States, the land of hoarders, lol.  Now, this thread is about ‘small living spaces’ since there are so many small units in Pattaya, I’m just passing on the information I received from the REA & ID. And, if one buys any new furniture, it is suggested that we buy multi-useable pieces…which could possibly include additional storage compartments (but not absolutely necessary for individuals that don’t want or need it, just an option).

Two words for you Murphy bed. There's a good shop in Jomtien at Soi Wat Boon Kanjanaram, near the Atlantis Condo complex.

Here's a link to a website they use, their supplier partner.

Cliff, do they a "Supersport" Sporting Goods store up in your area? Many to choose from.

Wifey cannot remember the " brandname" of the one she bought in 2007 at her home, but we both use it regulary.

One of the best things about being back here is, we run outdoors here at the local High School. I tried running outdoors in  a park down the street from her home...forget it. Miserable humidity year around.

Treadmill is the way to go in LOS for sure.

    Good suggestion.

Here in Thailand these days those large warehouse type sporting goods stores go by 'Decathalon.' He has one in Korat.

I spent a good portion of the day in the Urgent Eye Clinic at our hospital....I've been getting some lights at night with my eyes closed....could be a torn retina....but all is OK....something to do with being a knackered old shit.

Then celebrated my berfday with some pints of Peroni in our club & about to have a nice meal with some bubbly.

I had similar flashes and also worried about a detaching retina. Apparently, similar to floaters, it can be a normal part of aging. Always best to get these things checked though.

That's a meme based on Russell's Teapot, a philosophical argument put forth by British philosopher and mathematician Bertrand Russell to show by way of analogy that because the existence of God can't be disproved, there's still no reason to believe God exists.  The analogy can be applied equally well to UFOs.

Basically, Russell is saying it's up to believers to prove something exists, rather than for non-believers to prove it doesn't.

    Evil

I know but thanks for the lecture. I have google too.

  10. According to his youtube channel, Phil had a minor heart attack and is on blood thinners. Doctors have kept him in the hospital for observation as to how he reacts to the thinners. Phil says he is fine and more bored at the moment than anything and anxious to get out of the hospital and back to Le Pub by the weekend.
