Watched The Meg last night, it’s from 2018 but as my son was off to the cinema to watch The Meg 2 I suggested he’d better watch the first movie.
We both enjoyed it, some cliched moments / acting but overall very watchable for 2 hours especially as there was a nice Asian lead female 😎
he said today that the sequel was underwhelming

Following on from an unexpected roadside haul last week in Dorset,
my wife sourced the net this week and concluded that mushroom season had come earlier due to the wet weather. We duely headed out today to the Forest of Dean on the hunt, alas, not much success foraging. Some old stuff and a few unedibles
that’s it for now as off to Thailand in a few days so we’ll check back in early September

Nice looking unit. I like the location and block and have several mates who live / have units there.
price seems reasonable to me for high standard accommodation- best of luck with the rental

My wife and I watched the Thai movie Hunger last night following seeing some reviews online and my wife’s friend messaging her about it and suggesting we take a look.
We watched on Netflix and there are options to have in Thai or English but we chose Thai with English subtitles. I think as we approach our holiday I was trying to assimilate myself in the Thai language …lol.
it’s quite long at 2.15mins but I really enjoyed the movie and it’s clearly aimed not just at the Thai market and don’t be put off thinking it’s a thai movie per se.
I won’t say anymore as I don’t want to spoil it, the plots fairy basic but well acted and although the script / plot is somewhat predictable, I enjoyed it and in part due to the good looking lead ( female).
take a look.

Been in Thailand last April, already booked for March/April 2024, though with Thai.
Yea i seen EVA had dropped their prices a bit for round that time.
We go to Krabi, there's lots of 'top 10' beaches nearby, Railay etc. It's also a good base for exploring around that area, Phi Phi, Loh Dalum, Maya Bay ... not expensive either.
Probably better beach places, but we like it as there's enough going on, with not too much going on, if that makes sense!
We are big fans of Krabi and will be there next month. It’s always on the list for next year but may try elsewhere

If anybody needs yet another reason not to fly EVA, I have just received an email from Heathrow to say that from next month LHR will be inside the ULEZ so it'll be even more expensive if my sons want to drop me off there ...LGW here I come !!!
I might even consider Bristol .. Has anybody tried it to Thailand ???
Yes, flew from bristol with klm and China air / air China ( so memorable I can’t remember which) some 15 years ago. Bags were delayed by 24hrs on both legs, no compensation so never even considered flying again - timings were tight between changing planes hence bags didn’t get through on time
